| I'm looking into setting one up. Has anyone in here had one done? Who did you use and was it someone local? |
| I did mine through guntrustlawyer.com. the guy that will most likely execute in mo is out of springfield. sent an email on their form on the site, someone called within 2 days to setup time to talk to lawyer and collect $, lawyer called on scheduled time and then got the documents 3 days later. |

I'be been on the guntrustlawyer site before, recently we went to an estate planning seminar at our financial advisors office hosted and of course they talked about trusts. I inquired about nfa items on a regular trust and they said they have guys in the office who are into firearms and would probably have a better idea of what I was inquiring about.
How does an nfa trust differ than a regular trust and is there somer I need to tell them or ask them about the regular trust that may make it nfa capable? Not sure if that makes sense... Thanks for the help. |

Yes I looked at their website. Did you do the "advanced gun trust" or "professional"? They pitch the professional as lasting forever but it seems like to me if you have a trust set it should last and the trust should essentially own the firearms forever?? don't know. when I did mine they only had 1 option (iirc I paid 650 for it). trusts can die if they are not handed off before the grantor dies IIRC |

Thanks for the help. 2 things that I remember. there is language in it that is NFA specific. IE what do to if someone on the trust becomes ineligible (ie felony conviction) to own or poses the items, how the legally transfer item on the trust if needed, etc. also most trust are setup for things that are not used and depreciate (most trust are setup for estates and $) so there is some wording in there for that also |

I set up a trust that I got here. Was fairly easy to understand. If you need help, you can pay extra for that.
When I had mine edited the way I wanted, I had it executed/notorized at my bank when I opened the associated account that was needed. |

Thank you ws-6, this give me couple of items I can ask them about.
Com-guy, I assume you have not had any issues with the diy kit? Anyone have any input as to if it would be best to have a single estate planning trust that is also nfa capable or should I have two for any reason? One for nfa only and one for estate items. |
