With the front coming in the deer should still be moving. At least Saturday morning.

I know the deer are bummed out about this, too, so I just put out some candy to make them feel better.

There will be lots of does at the bars still.
Best night of the year for scoring a nice rack.

You could be sitting in Moline, Illinois, wondering "how the fuck did I get here?"

But I agree about hunting deer in warm weather.  I don't know if I'll go tomorrow or not.  I might try to kill the bastard that is working over the small trees in my yard again.

75 degrees and dangerously strong winds here. I do not want to be up in a tree stand or in the woods at all right now.

No joke there !!!

I wish I could have been out there earlier in the week before the temps climbed.

Thurs. I saw two nice bucks chasing does... 6 deer total... And Friday's warm up seemed to have shut them down.

Didn't even care to hunt in these conditions, so I came home early.

Got him!

Cheapsandwich and family came over and we were sitting on the porch waiting for the does that usually come out and this nice nine-pointer walked out into the yard at 75-80 yards.  Oh well, I guess I just gotta shoot him.  He ran about 100 yards and piled up under a cedar tree.  Hunting is SO hard.  I had to put on real shoes and sweat pants instead of slippers and a robe.

300 BLK; 16"; Primary Arms 4-14X44 FFP set at 10X; 125 gr Nosler BT over 16.8 gr H-110.

Oh yeah!  We lost a few roof shingles and the antenna for the Internet.  It was still a little gusty when he showed up, but not too bad.

Yeah it was windy over here. Felt like I was on a roller coaster while in my ladder stand.

Saturday morning brought out a doe and her two fawns that have been hanging around this fall. Didn't want to scare off any of the bucks in the area so I let them walk. Sure enough a buck comes out on the back side of my field. 200 yard shot, no problem. Look him over and then I notice the problem. Not enough points. He was probably a year and a half old. Nice main beams but no extra points.

Tonight was the ride from hell in the stand. Constantly worried about widow makers crashing on my head. Just after sunset the doe and two fawns come out at the back of the field. Level the rifle on her and figure what the hell, might as well make meat. Not to be as I could not keep the cross hairs on her long enough to press off a shot. So I settle back to watch them. They walked up to about 35 yards out and just sat there looking in my direction. I couldn't even fart. They hung around till well past dark.

Oh well, next time.

I decided not to go to the range, but I had things that had to get done, I stopped after getting gas when a 70? mph gust blew half of the QT parking lot down the rock road.

We did ok, got 5.  two 8pts and three does.  two first time hunters got their firsts and one hunter got his first buck.  All in all, God blessed me with a fantastic weekend.

I love hunting in the snow (so long as there is a place to go with a functioning heater/stove after several hours).
