Been a few years since I've done any steady bowhuntin but am starting to shoot more regularly now and may get some hunting in.

Lets see some pics.

I have only been out a couple times so far and haven't seen anything yet.

A buddy from work has already put 4 (yes, 4!) in the freezer. 3 does and a nice 12 point buck. Dude is a machine.

I saw a photo today of a deer killed at the Scrivner Road Conservation Area near Russelville. The thing was a monster. They're talking potential state record . . . sorry, I don't have the photo.

Buddy got a small 8 on my lease Saturday.  I'll try to post up pics later today.

That is the first I've heard of the Scrivner buck, I'm anxious to see some pics.  A friend of mine killed a 200"er not too far from there as the crow flies several years ago.

The one I heard about turned out to be a hoax. The photo I saw was from Iowa last year . . .

A friend texted a photo of a buck, supposedly killed at Scrivner. He had heard that "a friend of his boss's son" killed it. When I google image searched it, I came up with this . . . http://www.northamericanwhitetail.com/2010/09/22/trophybucks_wt_another_0109/

The photo on the page about the Iowa buck had the same photo my friend texted. Now, my friend wasn't claiming he shot the buck. It was just something that somebody passed onto him and he was sharing it. My question is why anyone would claim credit for something like this if it wasn't true. Is that temporary thrill of being the big dog so sweet that it's worth getting caught as a huge liar?

No clue where people get their jollies from this but I had first hand experience with it last year.  A guy that a few people in the group I hunt with shot and killed a giant down in Greens Bottom near Saint Charles.  Well some of this guys friends showed my buddies the pics and added "possible missouri typical state record" saying it was green scored 200+".  I saw the pics and right away knew he had booner potential but no way he was anywhere near the Hansen buck.  I know the Hansen buck is was a Canada kill but it does hold the World Record at I believe 214 and change so it would bee in the ballpark at 200+. After one of the guys I hunt with talked to the guy who shot it the deer was in the 170's as I had assumed in the first place.  This is not the first time I've heard stuff like this and I am sure it won't be the last.  With cell phones, texts, and picture messages these rumors can get started VERY fast and spread like the plague......for instance the picture of the mountain lion that killed and is dragging what looks like an 8pt buck in front of a feeder on a trail cam.  Yeah, that was said to have happened last year in New Haven, MO when I could pull up posts on a message board from mid 2000's.  Go figure.
