[ARCHIVED THREAD] - AR barrel question

So, I finally got my barrel from ICE Arms this morning. A beautiful 16" mid length stainless. Just one problem, there's no taper pin slots, just the two divots for a low profile block (which doesn't really go well with the A2 front sight gas block). Anyone know a 'smith that can ream the slots?

could be wrong but i though the slots were suppose to be there only if it came with the sight to make sure that they match up correctly. what side of the state are you on? also you can always buy the alignment jig and then the bit for it and do it yourself also

im pretty sure you can buy set screw front sights or if you want your sight pinned check with adco there price is reasonable along with a decent turnaround and quality work.

IIRC Armalite makes a nice clamp on A2 sight. Gogop put one on his pistol build so you might check that thread for a link.

Viking, we can install a FSB with taper pins, but we would need a virgin FSB that has not been drilled. The FSB and barrel need to be drilled together while assembled.
