Hey guys,
I just picked up a bunch of 50 cal ammo cans at $10 each locally.
I found em via craigslist and figured I'd pass it on to anyone else who might be looking as well.
http://stlouis.craigslist.org/spo/4010344907.html
These are used but are in good to very good condition. He's got about 30-40 left. He will ship if need be.

He's got 30 cal cans for $5 each too. He has 3 pallets of these.
Based on my looking around locally & online, metal 50 cal cans are going for anywhere between $12-$20 plus shipping or sales tax and the 30 cal cans are going from $10-$15 plus shipping/sales tax.

I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH THIS SELLER. I just thought I'd pass on the info to anyone else looking for ammo cans.

If anybody gets to inspect these in person I'd buy any that are marked for 9mm or with the M1 8 round en bloc logo.

The ones I bought are actually 5.56 mm cans the same size & shape as 50 cal cans. They are marked with a "10" logo that has what appears to be a weird wedge shape on either side of the 10.

I did not see any marked 9mm or M1 8 round en bloc logo's.

Then you need to put up an ad for them.....cause they ought to sell.
Where are you located?

I think I bought cans from there before.  Isn't he a HTF member?

I don't know honestly.

I bought the cans from Steve, (as listed in the ad).
Steve is selling the cans on behalf of the company owner. The company is actually 2 small machine shop companies that used the ammo cans to ship parts in.
it became cheaper to ship using other containers, and the ammo cans went into storage. The owner recently decided to sell the cans and free up the space.

The owner and Steve and big shooters, and we had a good conversation about guns and shooting while I was buying the cans.

I found the price to be good and I prefer to buy from a Missouri based business if at all possible.....

Location seems familiar.  I thought the guy I got them from was Tom.

No idea what the owner's name is. I spoke with him briefly.

I cant remember who the HTF member was that was selling some a few years back. But he has a business in St. Peters on the north side behind Uncle Sams just west of Cave Springs. I remember buying about 5 of them. I was just in Uncle Sams today in St. Peters. They really dont have any surplus stuff anymore. Seems that about 99% of it is brand new commercial stuff. I dont remember what size is which, but those cans in the picture is going for 16 bucks. Ones that are just a bit smaller are going for 15 bucks and the cases that  are about 4 times bigger with flip down latches on both sides are going for about 36 bucks.
