Hey guys...

Lookin' for a couple scope mounts...

One for my Savage FVSR Rifle...

Then a couple for flat top AR's...

I want some quality stuff... So obviously Larue is in the short list... But what else should I be looking at?

Prefer something with QD's because I like to remove my optics for storage.

Anybody got some input?

I have a  Burris PEPR mount that is great. its designed for the AR. Larue is obviously the best but expensive.

This for the ARs

For the Savage a good one piece base and any good rings will work fine.

I like the DNZ mount I have on my deer rifle.

Just to reaffirm, Larue hands down especially for the AR.

I mean who else is gonna send you a Dillo, Kickass bumper stickers, a DVD, and Dillo Dust with your order????

Oh, and they'll throw in a bad ass scope mount with all that other stuff too!

Don't remove scopes and expect to retain zero.  You won't.

With quality QD mounts the shift in POI can be very, very minimal.  As in not enough to ever worry about.  There have been many tests done to validate this.

i use larue but i know that adm also make mounts.  they are cheaper and claim return to zero but some people do argue that (ppl seem to get return to zero and hold zero mixed up for some reason).

For the Savage, EGW in either 0, or 20 MOA, depending on what you do with it.

I have some that repeat within a minute or so.  Not good enough at long range.

Well, everyone around here knows my bias.

If you have a LaRue question, ask away.  Their mounts are guaranteed to return to zero... Reliably.

Having demo'd their kit for several years, I have to constantly remove and replace optics on the sticks hundreds of times.  As long as the same optic goes back onto the same gun in the same spot... And the mount is adjusted properly... You will be GTG.

The only time I have to confirm zero is when I either have loaned out the guns, or I throw the Gemtechs onto them (whom I am also ProStaff for).

I've bought two mounts in the past six months - an ADM and a Bobro.  I think the Bobro is the nicer of the two (no fiddling with adjustments, nice lock, etc...) but you can't go wrong with either.  I have also had a GG&G mount I liked very much.

It's really simple, Larue for AR's and Badger for bolt guns.

why not these for bolt guns: http://www.laruetactical.com/larue-tactical-34mm-2-piece-qd-lt808-34 or http://www.laruetactical.com/larue-tactical-ultra-low-mount-rings-qd or http://www.laruetactical.com/larue-tactical-30mm-2-piece-qd-lt-123  all are QD return to 0 rings

I can honestly say that for an A2 do not skimp on the cantilever mount.  I'll be monkeying with this $18 POS for enough time that a $125 Midwest Industries would have made more sense...

+1 on ADM mounts.

Thanks for all the input guys...

Think I'll probably just stick to Larue... Pricey... But return to zero is very important to me.

I just hate having my guns with their optics boucing around on each other when I put them in the safe... Taking the optics off prior to putting them in their racks helps immensely.

Your guns touch? Sounds like its time to buy a bigger safe.

Not me.  I like it when they bump & grind in there.  In fact, I even leave the lights on low and play Barry White albums to them hoping for perhaps a new Baby Browning from the action.

LOL... Eric... That was freakin' hilarious...

As for the bigger safe thing...

I'm at capacity as far as floor space goes in this tiny little house of mine... No more room for gun safes unless I start putting them in the garage. Even then I'd have to figure out how to rearrange what I have out there now.

I'm working on finding some property and building a home... This starter box I bought when I was 21 is just too darn small anymore... Can't imagine what I'd do if I had kids.

A married guy I used to shoot with once said "It's easy to sneak another gun into the house.  'Aww honey, you've seen this one before.'  It's the second safe that's hard to sneak in."

Eaze taught me this one, much to the dismay and dismantlement of my checking account.

"If LaRue is an answer, LaRue IS the answer."

...and recently my wife asked when I was going to get more Dillo Dust....

*sigh*

I guess I do need an LT-104 for my 3Gun rifle.
