See lots of CCW and Instructer Classes Posted here, but rarely anything for the shooter.  Took the Pistol Carbine class in 2010, great class, looking for more of the same this year.

What I'd like to find is some advanced instruction to improve my shooting... pistol, rifle, hell even clays.  Most of all I really need to work on my pistol precision though, and feel like I've hit a wall at the range and dry firing at home.

I'd love to take a Concealed Carry Tactics/Practical Pistol Defense class. Something that would go over situations that a regular concealed carrier might encounter while armed. I'd love for my wife to take a Pistol self defense class as well.

Jim Shanahan teaches  urban fighting to spec ops and teams at Ft. Wood during his day job. Weekends he teaches others. As you can see from his class list he offers a variety of classes. Located between Rolla and Waynesville. I have enjoyed his classes but a more interested in competition classes than defense myself.

I am not related or affiliated with him other than taking classes and shooting with him at the COPS range. Just responding to your post.

Jim's a great guy and a great instructor.  The courses can be modified if needed with a little bit of advance coordination with Jim, and the course fees can't be beat.
He also does gun and grip mods as well as custom kydex work.
Well worth checking into if you are looking for some additional training.

Mike Pannone has a handgun class coming up in March. I've trained with him before and he's one of the best instructors out there. This is a pretty rare opportunity for an instructor of his level to come around the midwest.

I have also heard good things about Jim Shanahan, but have never actually taken one of his courses

Is the link to our page that highlights some of the classes we offer.  All of our classes are fast paced, no nonsense training sessions geared toward a specific end result.  We combine almost 30 years of active federal service, specializing in Urban fighting, hostage rescue and protection with an almost equal amount of competition shooting across a variety of disciplines, into a unique training experience.  Every class we offer is developed from the ground up and based on sound principles designed to win a gunfight or a sporting event.  We don't "step" our courses and require students to attend level 1 and then level 2 and then level 3, always holding something back until the next class like there is some magic formula to learning to shoot well.... Instead we challenge our students to improve from minute 1 and the challenges don't stop until the end of a given program.  We guarantee you can't find this level of trainig at our price anywhere else.  You just have to figure out what you want to improve on and contact us.  We keep the student/instructor ratio low so we can have maximum face time with each shooter, typical classes cap at 10 students but if we run more we bring in other instructors to help to make sure that no one gets left behind.
