It sucks! That is all. We now return you to you regularly scheduled program. |
|
The good news is that by being one of the early participants you can catch it again towards the end of the season. ETA: Sorry, I've only had that pleasure a couple of times. I knew I was really sick when I woke up feeling like I'd been gut-kicked by a mule and had no appetite for nearly two days. Sweating & shivering at the same time. I knew when I was over it as my appetite came back with a vengeance. Fun times. |

I just spent the last few days with it. I had the fever, chills, coughing my lungs out, and I puked my guts up last night to finish it off. I feel much better today! It may not have been flu, but I was sicker than I had been in a long time. This was pretty much my situation . I don't feel a lot better today, but i hope to by tomorrow . No Tamiflu, just Nyquil, Dayquil , Valium and rest . |

Wash your damn hands. Flu shots help with Influenza. Influenza = Flu = coughing/draining/fever/fatigue/ache - contracted through coughs and sneezes Gastroenteritis = "stomach flu" = explosive diahrea/vomiting/stomach & Intestinal pain - contracted from eating poop Yeah, I called the shit, poop. Don't eat poop. |
Five year old girl puked in the only checkout lane open last night at grocery store. Her mother turned and said. She's been sick everywhere we've been today. You'd think after three weeks she'd be over it.
Three people bailed out of that checkout lane. Store manager immediately opened register 3 lanes upwind of the mess. |

Lots of things cause stomach flu. Those things can be bacterial and viral and both can be contracted without eating poop. ![]() 2 girls and a cup Human Centipede... Whoa... After googling both of your phrases, those folks have to be seriously desturbed.

Quoted: OY! I've had that bad shrimp. Well, actually, it was shrimpy tasting iced tea at a Chinese buffet. Top end was okay but the bottom end got a bit anxious. Quoted: Quoted: Now squirting out both ends....fun times. Starts working muscles you never knew you had. Abs hurt days after you stop vomiting. Stop eating poop. ![]() It was from bad shrimp and stale beer. What a bad New Years ![]() |

It may not have been flu, but I was sicker than I had been in a long time. Well, its not over. I spent most of last night with a sour stomach and puking. Woke up this morning with the shits and called off work. It was a good decision since the toilet and I have spent lots of time together today. I feel like someone has been beating me in my gut. |

The thing you have to remember about the flu shot is that it vaccinates against three selected strains for the influenza virus that are selected in the spring because they are thought to be the most likely to be widespread in the fall/winter.
Some times they nail, it other times they are a bit off, but even if they nail it or are way off in the outfield it won't give you a 100% immunity to the flu virus. It will make your body better equipped to recognize and fight the virus when it does invade though. So if you do get it the flu shot you may still end up with the flu, but your symptoms will likely be shorter lived and less severe than someone that did not get the flu. Oh, and remember the effect is some what cumulative from year to year, so make sure you get your shots yearly. |

Certainly stay in and rest. That is certainly gastroenteritis. The pain is not only from the cringing but also because your intestines and stomach are inflamed. If at all possible, and if you're already able to, try to take a small dose of an NSAID (ibuprofen like Advil or naproxen sodium like Aleve). Also, start the BRAT diet. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast. You can also add yogurt (BRATY) to start getting the flora in your gut back in balance. |

Seriously, those saying never to the flu shot. Why? Is autism/government mind control an actual worry? Even if it's only 80% effective, wouldn't you want that over 0% protected? What have people done for centuries before flu shots ?
They either got the flu or didn't . Same as now, with or without the shot .

| 1st time ever getting the flu and pneumonia shot and it made me sicker than shit for 4 days. Lump the size of a baseball, a rash around the injection site and 100.5 fever for 3 of the 4 days. Other flu symptoms as well. I thought I got the flu shot so I would not get the flu. |

Flu shots. they work- you should go get them Tried that. Still got sick & sore. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k11/Kevyn_53/IMG_0507.jpg You should get that checked out. That is a allergic reaction to the shot. I would say dibs on guns and ammo but that could be for real. |
|
I'm sure I only hear the bad effects , but most people I know who get a flue shot , have the SAME symptoms sa the flue , maybe a day or so less in length. (they STILL get a shot every year)
Since I've never had the flue , figure no need to PAY somebody to make me sick. |

They either got the flu or didn't . Same as now, with or without the shot . ![]() What have people done? Died. In the millions. Worldwide, there are still deaths but only in the 100's of thousands. We just happen to live in an medically advanced country. And kids are little germ factories. My daughter asks me why I won't kiss her on the lips. Daddy's got shit to do, that's why. |

This greatly reduces the chance of a virus going hog wild and mutating into a really deadly strain. |
