I am looking to move to Springfield soon and was seeing if anyone had any leads on apartments or houses to rent. Doesn't have to be right away looking to be moved by October or November. Also looking for ranges and people to hang out with and everything else worth knowing.

Thank
Dirt

Can't help you on housing, the wife and I are trying to sort that out ourselves.  IIRC, as far a ranges go, the choices are fairly limited.  Bass Pro as a weak indoor range with 5 lanes, and the next closest one is at Busik State Park, which is a lazy 30 minute drive south on 65 and a quick left turn across the median on to the side of a side road.  That one has 10 lanes with nice concrete benches, good target frames, and a 100m lane.

Sound of Freedom,   http://www.sof-usa.com , in Ozark  is fairly close to Springfield and  fine indoor range.  Andy Dalton range is a MDC supervised range in Bois D'arc.  I like the Bass Pro Range in the early morning just to talk with the crusty old regulars there.

Busiek is only 6 table. 2 each at 25 50 and 100 yard. They do supply paper targets and duck tape. You can only shoot paper out there. SOF is a good indoor range in Ozark. Basspro range is a joke.

Pleasant hope conservation area is my favorite local outdoor range.  Sound of Freedom is good because they allow you to shoot shotguns, so it’s the only place I can take mine.  As for housing, don’t limit to just Springfield.  Several local towns are within a 10 minute drive and most of them have better schools if you have kids.  Willard, Republic, Nixa and Ozark are the first ones that come to mind.  Also while the north side of town has traditionally be the less affluent side of town, just outside city limits to the north of town are some really nice areas.  I don’t know your financial situation, but I know getting on our feet for our first place my wife and I lived at Woodgate apartments.  They’re not nice, but they’re cheap and have easy highway 65 access, perfect for newlyweds.  On South Ingram Mill there are lots of apartments and condos between Sunshine and Battlefield, across from the high school on Ingram Mill there are some duplexes that are ok for the money.  They were $515 a month when I lived there about 5 years ago, so the rent may have changed.

Thanks,

750 is more than i really wanna spend. See I'm in a special type of situation, I work over the road and am gone 3 months at a time and then home for like 2 weeks. I'm moving from Poplar Bluff. Been in contact with several realtors and some apartment complexes. I don't need much I'm gonna need 2 bedrooms at least for when I have my son. Will need a secure area due to my firearms and ample parking. I have 2 vehicles and will have a 3rd this winter when i have my work truck.
