Does anybody have any info on Platte City, MO or St. Joseph, MO?

I am probably relocating to the area and trying to decide on which side of the river to reside.

I am thinking hard about Lansing and Leavenworth, KS or possibly Platte City, MO.

Please give me any pros/cons on Platte City or the MO side.

i would vote MO side:
-i hear taxes are better
-you won't have to wait for the state to get $$ for tax returns
-IMO our gun laws are slightly better
-oh and KU sucks

larwence is pretty much a collage town.  st joe isn't bad.  a few years ago it was dieing a slow death when a couple of larger plants shut up there but since it has done better.  platte doesn't seem bad and weston (been here for horse back riding and the irish bar in the cave) seems nice

I'd pass on Leavenworth.  It's a prison town so alot of the population is a relative of a local prisoner and appear to be an Obama voter/welfare recip...  I worked there for 15 months and when driving through town, the over/under was "7".  That's 7 people walking "somewhere"....  Due to their dress, they were never walking to or from work, etc, just out going somewhere.  these were the type of people you wouldnt want to see walking past your house or parked car...   I'm not sure what the actual crime rate was but alot of the Military in my office, chose to live in Platte City..

I vote platte city. Close enough to KC to go out to eat or a movie, far enough away to escape most of the idiots. St.Jo is a bit far for me. Plus, if you work in KC, you can stop by my office on the way home for adjustments!  Haha

St. Joe isn't too bad. I am moving in to town soon mainly due the proximity to my job but there is very reasonable housing available now also.

Platte is pretty expensive IMHO, but is a great location. Not sure what your profession is so that may be a non issue.

Important part is that you will have to drive all the way to Lees Summit to see Sub-MG for your silencers.  :-)
