Trying to get a gauge on what I should be asking for my S&W MP15A - AR15.  MODS - THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD.  I will post in EE if I end up listing it, but trying to figure out real world what I should be asking.

S&W MP15A - Carbine
Mods:
Magpul MOE Stock
Hogue Rubber Grip
Trigger lightly polished
Badger Ordanance Tac Latch
Polished face of bolt
Magpul ASAP Plate

Factory Specs:
MPI Bolt
Pressure Tested Bolt
Shot Peened Bolt
Properly Staked Gas Key
4140 Barrel Steel
Chrome Chamber & Bore
1/9 Twist
14.5" 5.56 Barrel
M4 Feedramps
Parkerized under Front Sight Base
Staked Castle Nut
Troy Rear Backup Sight

Aprox. 200 rnds through gun, would come with 1-2 mags and factory case, possibly manual.  I have it listed for $900, they are listed for closer to 1100 new online. Also have a Eotech 512 a.65 that is on the rifle, that I was willing to package in for 1150 total.

SO... am I too high? I am not getting many replies, but didn't think I was way out of line??

Seems reasonably priced, especially with the EOThingy package deal. Without the scope you've got ~$100 worth of extras added to the base rifle.  If you don't need to sell it right away, you'll get a better price for it the closer we get to November.

Hogue grip takes value to $-1. You owe me a dollar for putting that shit on an AR.

He's got a valid point.

Well luckily I still have the original A2 grip as well as the Hogue Overmold, so I can replace it, try and sell the hogue for a dollar and send payment :P

A2 grips are not the best. If you had a MIAD and all the parts, without the roll pin jammed into it, you could tack another $20 or $25 on. With the A2, subtract $2 or $3.

high IMO......I would sell the rifle for $850-900 without optic, sell the Eothingy separate for $50-100 under new with 75 extra batteries, or you could list the rifle at 850-900 range with option to add EoTech for $xxx. That might bring more potential buyers to your doorstep, and some would go ahead and jump towards the optic once there.

when bundled together, I start looking at whether or not I'm paying "fair" price or getting a deal when taking on someone else's optic (possible problem).

^ I was thinking I was doing like you mentioned, with $900 asking (figure that will get negotiated down to 850) without optic and 1150 with optic. I looked online and the optic was around 4-450 most places, 100 off would be 300 equaling 1200 package price, so I'm actually 150-200 off on the optic.  Do you think I should just list for 850 then say if you would like the eotech add another 300?

you will get more hits at that range.

this is just my opinion after selling several items as both packages and separating....the package as a whole is ALWAYS worth less to a buyer than the items separated. Sell them separate and receive more money. When it comes to getting peoples attention towards buying something, put the lowest price point you are willing to negotiate from out there.....then you can always "up sell" someone on an optic if they seem interested.

I've had far better luck selling guns without niche or custom items. Hell, I removed a Chip McCormick trigger from an AR to get it to sell without one.....then had no issue selling the trigger and ended up ahead of where I would have sold it as a package.

Actually, that's when they become nearly priceless.

You're absolutely correct...that's what I meant by $0...as in "it shouldn't be for sale".

Conventional wisdom would be to hang on to it until Sept or Oct (Dec?) unless you have need of the $$$ right now.

Sometimes adds have to be bbt'd several times before a hit. Then surprise, several more post of deal falls through.
