Family (30+) just arrived for gathering at my house..... Thoughts on how to get me out before I am zombied..... Have already had questioning on "Why on earth I needed to be carrying in the house" and "Why I had so many firearms in my home"

Tough one. Dealing with a few at a time is possible, but 30+ ?!?!?!
Why so many? It's like collecting cars, only cheaper. Or, like collecting penguins, only less gay. Offer to talk about the history and importance of each one. Make the Saints of Blarney proud. Why carry in the house with that many family around? Got me there. I don't when the family and/or friends are around unless they're gun friendly, too. |

When lots of family comes over, the guns go in the safe, except for one concealed. I generally don't get questioned, as it stays concealed I'm saving myself the, "Why on earth would you have a loaded gun in your house?... Did you know the hammer is cocked on that gun you have on you?... Why do you need so much ammo? ... You can't hunt with that ... My friend told me those were illegal ... I hear those blow holes the size of watermelons ... the news said that handgun you have will put a bullet through 30 feet of steel, so it's illegal" ... and on, and on, and on

My family all knows that I'm into guns, most think it's pretty cool. My mom got a huge kick out of shooting one of my ARs. The most opposition that I've ever met was my grandpa asking me if I was some kind of redneck- we both had a pretty good laugh over that.
I had a great time with my family today. We're pretty close, but there ain't 30 of us either ... |
I did give answers similar to a few offered, and did my best to explain that while I live in a decent area (in St Charles), that I don't like uninvited guests or allow wild animals in the home (2 or 4 legged). As to the question about "guns in public view", I have quite a few in 5 presentation grade display cases mounted to the walls (see below). Three have a small sign inside that reads "break glass in an emergency". Very similar to AFSOC, if there were not some in view, something is really wrong and there is NEVER a time I do not CCW where legal... Its an individuals Right and if you don't like it, Don't enter my home, leave or
