So I happened to be working from home this morning...  Dogs started barking at the back door like someone was out back, so I went and looked; No one there...  A few minutes later some rings the doorbell, then before I got to the front door, he knocks pretty loudly...

I open the door and the guy acted real supprised to see someone...

He then says, yea, I'm workig in the area, Do you want your yard done, leaves and gutters?  I can do it all for 10.00

I said no thanks, my best friend owns a Lawn Co and takes care of me...  You have a Merry Christmas..

My spidey senses were kinda tingling a bit so I decided to see what he was driving...  When I looked he was pulling off in a plain white full sized Ford van, like the cable guys or a delivery service would drive...  I did not see a trailer with any lawn equiptment or ladders/racks on top...  I'm sure he could have fit some stuff inside, but it seemed fishy...  I used to have a small Lawn co and I would not have charged less than 35-40.00 for a yard the size of mine...

Plus, my lawn is really short and my leaves are gone as my friend had just done them a few days ago...

When the guy left, he just drove away, did not stop at any more houses on the street to see if they wanted any work done and many of them I watched him roll passed, really could of used it...

With us getting robed a few months ago, I started wondering if he was casing the joint.

Think he was casing or really looking for work?

Did you get any pedigree info? Plate number? I'd drop a bug in your local LEO ear. I'd want someone to call me on something like this.

White guy, around 6' 1-2" tall, medium build, short dark hair, no facial hair, Jeans, Dark Blue or faded black hoodie, dark boots...

Plate was pretty dirty as was the back of the van, and at the distance I was looking at it, I don't think I could have read it, if it was 100% clean...

THIS!
I live 15 min south of Jefferson City and there has been a guy going around "selling" cleaning products again.
Funny there were at least 2 break ins in this little town last week.

County Sheriff has the make of the van and plate # thanks to a good neighbor.
ETA:   Wardsville for you JC folks that were wondering.

Game cams are great but a PITA to check unless you know there is/was a problem. A DVR with a few cameras can be had fairly cheap in addition to a security system (even unmonitored) will cause a potential burglar allot of grief.

Could be...  Man that creeps me out....

He woulda had to have an accomplice.  He was too big to fit through the bathroom window...

Hopefully, him seeing my big ass answer the door vs the daughter, gives him some reservations about coming back...

I am thinking the same thing as 1911smith. As far as the accomplice, he either did not come this time or was in your back yard.

I got hit one time, well twice inside of 7 days. Lots of high dollar AV stuff gone and a really, really nice collection of bone, Case knives. Complete sets. Also had a collection of bone Hubertis switchblades. All in display cases. There was a lot, lot more taken not worth mention. Theives walked out with over 10k.

Anyway, first hit was light. In and out. 2nd time they cleaned house. Police reports made both times.

There was a third time. I had just left house for work at 3am on a Monday. I guess seeing me leave was go. I had the creapiest feeling after leaving and went back. They'd attempted coming through back door. The two boys were very shocked to be met by my girlfriend at the time wrapped in a sheet with Beretta .32 aimed at'em. That woman never knew the word fear personally but she sure inflicted plenty of it.. She opened door and asked wtf ! Both took off.

When I got there, both kids were cuffed and Police inside visiting with girlfriend. Seems boys didn't have far to run. Both lived next door. Both just so happened to see strange truck in previous thefts. That's what police reported, any how.

Both  got off on probation. My shit never recovered and both boys had to move. System really works sometimes, eh  ?

Yea, there's no doubt in my mind your guy was back for trip number two.

Couple years later I took a bullet just behind my head. Hit truck skin. This was down on I-44, Bourbon, Mo. 3 or 4 boys shooting rimfire rifle at truckers. One driver got glass shards in her head. Bullet passed just in front of her nose, glass of course explodes in front of face.

Know what those boys got ? Little time at juvvy and probation/parole.. whatever it is they do with minors. Names never released.

I get pulled over for speeding and I practically get thrown in jail !

It's a fucked up country we live in.

Think you should go to the range and bring home nice groups on B27 targets with 12ga slugs......put said B27's on front and rear doors.

Someone pushes luck...cure their lead deficiency if you get the chance.

.... And I get pulled over for nothing else but to check my tint level over labor day weekend, about 3pm on the Friday before.  Litterally, that's what the highway patrolman (super trooper) said.

This guy even had the nerve to say.... well, it's not just for my safety, say someone kidnapped a baby, I need to be able to see into your car....

Are you implying that I would kidnap a baby??  Uhg, don't even get me started....

Only if I could call the cops in your neighborhood...

Mine would drive by and go, Meh, what are we supposed to do????

They would not even fingerprint glass jars that the F*&^%* palmed while stealing my spare coin stash...
