| I have nowhere to go and it's getting bad enough that it's at the point where it is affecting my health. Need some serious help, this is not a joke thread. |

Not saying this to be a dick, but there are some shelter options in Columbia that might work for a temporary emergency.
Not knowing the nature of your family problem, what your personal "shirt on your back" assets are, and what sort of job or skills you have, I'd merely echo what's been said above. Talk to a minister/priest or someone outside of the family that you trust. Unload a little bit and see if the problems still seem unbearable. Proceed with caution from there. |

I need something a bit more permanent or at least long enough term to get more hours and my own place, or at least contribute my fair share. Right now I am only getting 24 hours a week as a rentacop and there is talk of taking my post down to 8s instead of 12s, which would drop me to 16, and even being the supervisor I don't get a say in it. My branch is out of Jefferson City, so transfer is a nonissue, as Columbia is one of our serviced areas. The family situation is rather hostile toward me, at least with my immediate family. I'd rather not get into detail on it. |

Find a way to get out of the house. The shelter can work temporarily and they might be able to put you in touch with something more permanent.
Churches have helped with this stuff in the past too. Remove yourself from the hostile environment. Pronto. Good luck to you. |
| Ok, several things are happening here. First you dont have enough hours of pay to make a go of it. Also there is lots of stress at home. This will be the two birds with one stone answer. Get 2 or 3 jobs. this gets you out of the house and increases your income to the point that you just might be able to get yourself a small high efficiency Apartment. |
| If you have to you can live in a cheap hotel/motel till you save up enough for the security deposit on an apartment. Food can be had cheap if you live off the dollar menu. As for the job hours either work more jobs as mentioned above or find a new job with more hours. |

You greatest asset is you are not tied down. Start applying for jobs in different areas like Kansas City or Saint Louis. Move to where the jobs are. There is a vast network of information available right here in the Missouri Home Town Forum and your post is a good start to using that knowledge.

What's your location? Laddonia, MO. I work in Mexico, MO, but I can easily transfer around the state. |

Work so much that you'll be out of the house all the time. Not much shit people can give you if you come home and do nothing but sleep/shit/shower/shave and GTFO again in 8 hours to do it all over again. As an added bonus you can be banking the extra dough. |

I'm in tune with this plan, problem is finding work. If you know anybody in my area that needs office/security work send me a PM with contact info! |

If you are really in that bad of a situation, don't limit yourself to your chosen work. Take anything you can find. Delivering pizza is a great way to make extra cash. Take a job at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. for a seasonal employee. It is all cash and gets you away from a bad situation. |
