Just put down my dog. She was 14 and ready to go, but it never makes it any easier. Had her since I was 8. RIP Lucy. Pics when I get home Dogs are the only ones in life that will love you more than you love yourself. My favorite joke. How do you know your dog loves you more than your wife? Lock them both in the trunk of your car for an hour and see which one is more happy to see you when you let them out. |

It's been a year and a half for me and my family. We buried our dog in a favorite hunting location that's not far from home. BTW, I can see why that's a favorite joke. I heard the following a while back and thought it was pretty good... I just want to try to be the person my dog thinks I am.

My condolences. Been there myself, and will probably be facing it again w/in the next year or two.
That is the sucky part of God giving us dominion over the animals...we get stuck with making the hard decisions. 2 pieces of advice... 1. Don't rush out and get another dog, take your time and make a rational decision, not an emotional one. 2. Don't say "...I'll never get another dog, I don't want to go though that pain again..." Time heals all wounds. |

You have My condolences as well... I know how it is... I ahve an aging Black Lab (her name is Jasimne or Jazzy) that is having health issues... She has no Bladder control (pees all the time) and her rear hips or hind legs bother her alot and she can't stand really long... She is really smart, a really nice attitude or personality and is a part of the family, everyyone talks to the dogs like they are people, even our friends that come over... Some days I think about getting her put down, but I just can't bring myself to do it... Many days she is fine and still loves to get out and chase a squirell or rabbit, others not so much... I know I'd miss her dearly, so would the rest of the family and our other dog "Bella"... I think she'd be lost without Jazzy... |
