... I'll go with an MTAC or Old Faithful holsters (a cheaper version of MTAC).

If you're in STL, go with the Kholster.  You can take you gun over to Jimmy's house and he'll make one for you right there.  You can get it trimmed, adjusted, and setup just the way you like it all for about $40.  That's half the cost of a Crossbreed or Mtac, and it's custom made!!

You might not like the IWB carry, like me.  I pocket carry everything, but sometimes use a Kholster for a backup piece.

Try a Kholster, if you like it, you can try a CrossBreed or Mtac........but I've tried both and they're not any better.  The Kholster can be adjusted more and can be altered/trimmed without voiding the warranty.

I love my crossbreed.  It is a really good and comfortable holster.

Holsters are SOOOOO subjective.  Having a local dealer/mfr that will let you see, feel & try their wares is a HUGE bonus.

Crossbreed has a satisfaction guarantee, don't like it? send it back in 2 weeks (Don't forget they offer 10% for NRA, LEO, or MIL)

Wont lie or blow sunshine up your ass, but will say that I do like my Crossbreed IWB. One thing about it I really like is the fact that some of the leather goes up to the rear of the pistol. There is no rubbing between me and the pistol. And the leather is comfortable, molding to my body shape. I have had only one other holster and it was one of those cloth IWB and it would allow the rear half of the pistol to dig and gouge me. I am a wee bit heavy so I do have something of a tire at my waist.

What do you guys do with the gun when you need to pinch a loaf in a public bathroom?

If there's no way for it to simply stay in the holster while crapping (and why isn't there?), then out of holster and into pulled-down underwear.  When redressing it goes on the crapper or TP dispenser until such time as the pants are once-again fastened and ready to bear the weight of the pistol.

Slightly holster on pants with belt at just below the knees apply enough pressure to keep the gun and drawers off the floor.

I use a crossbreed picked it up used and they still replaced the clips for free.

I would have bought a kolster first if it had be available back then.

It takes a bit of urgency for me to drop a duece in a public crapper. If I do have to though I will simply drop my pants to my knees and hold them there. Allot of times you can slip your pants down (or atleast I can) just by unbuckling your belt. This has the added benefit of not allowing your pants to mop up the urine left on the floor. It also keeps your holster from dropping below the bottom of most dividers.

I've never heard anything bad about crossbreed.

That said, I do have an inexplicable preference for this guy.

What kind of gun do you have, and what kind of holster do you want (tuckable IWB, OWB, etc.)?  If you're in the St. Louis area, I sell holsters to On Target, and I can make one for your gun so you can try it out in person.

Thaks for the info on holsters  I think I will look into crossbreed holster. And its always good to learn other ins and outs of carrying while attempting to grow a tail in public while carrying. I also try not to give birth in public but sometime you have no option.

I have had to "grow a tail" in a public bathroom in the past. And the bathrooms were clean (Lucky me). So I just took the right waist band and turn it in then lower my boxers over that. Pistol and holster are concealed. But as the OP said, you learn something from each of these post. Might have to practice the pinching the waistband so I can hold the pistol up above the lower edge of the divider.

I love my Minotaur from comp-tac. I carry a SA 3.8 in it. As for dropping a Duece, I generally lay it on the TP holder.

When you start getting tired of carrying look me up and I will let you try my Crossbreed ST on. Thats what made me start carrying with it. I found myself very hesitant to carry some days because frankly my gun was damned uncomfortable to carry, dug into my side and felt heavy.
I did some research, picked up a super tuck and a better belt and now I feel quite naked with out it. I have tried a few since then, heard great things about the MTAC, but personally I will stick with my crossbreed.

The absolute best holster in the biz is a Milt Sparks versa max II(VMII).  They are especially helpful when carrying a narrow slim framed pistol like a 1911 or Hi Power. You can conceal a 5" 1911 and never know it is there. The holster is affordable at $110 but the wait is 26 weeks or so. If you have a 1911 or hi power, look them up. They don't suggest, however, using one for a Grena....umm Glock, XD, or other square two by fours.

I do like the XD though.
