Horan Law Office on Manchester @ McKnight. 6901 Manchester Avenue St Louis, MO 63143-2617 - (314) 645-2889
I've had 20+ tickets since I started driving and they've fixed all but two of them (the two in IL). It's $40 for them to do the paperwork, then you'll get a letter in the mail explaining when and where to pay the fine. You can just fax or mail the ticket to them with a check or cc number. The non-moving violation (most likely an "excessive vehicular noise") will cost you an extra 20-30% over what the normal violation will be. If it's STL city, you'll need to mail it in or pay it downtown versus being able to do it online. And, yes, they are one of the guys that advertises on the back of the RFT. The place is a dump, but you don't need a Bryan Cave $300/hr attorney for this process. Just someone who knows the game. BTW, you'll get about a dozen postcards in the mail for lawyers in the next few weeks. STL either sells the data or has to disclose it. |

Quoted: Um, that wouldn't have been on the service road in st clair this morning would it? ![]() Naw, it was in St. Louis, Berkeley to be specific... I had just got off 270 onto 170 and was on my way to Overland area.... The Officer was nice and polite though... Woulda been nicer if he'd given me a warning, but I'm not mad at him... I broke the law and he was just doing his job and wasn't a Dick about it at all... Its all good... |

I got pulled over two times last year (stupid heavy foot) and both police officers acted like it was a felony stop for some reason, had their hands on there guns and stood behind me out of sight. Maybe is because i have a Black 08 Acura TL Type S, you would with someone driving a nice car you wouldn't be afraid?.... only reason i can think of is they thought it was stolen. Neither time was i doing more than 18 over |

I hate to say it... <––- Has no problem with profiling.... especially if it saves lives or convicts badguys.... If you guilty you are guilty, no matter how they got there... (well almost, I don't want to open up a can of worms for all the different rights that can be trampled on) If your innocent you ""normally"" do not have anything to be worried about... |

BTW, I completly forgot about having my CCW, till after I handed him my DL and he was walking away... He ran my DL and plates never mentioned it.... Not sure if you are talking about the gun or the permit. Tell me you didn't get the endorsement on your DL? And tell me where it says you have to announce that you have your gun on you. Unless you are about to get out of the car. I will then tell the officer just before opening the door, but not till then or any other reason comes up that I would feel the need. But just a routine traffic stop, naw I think that the officer does not need to know. |

But just a routine traffic stop, naw I think that the officer does not need to know. Easy there trigger... LOL... I was talking about the Permit and yes I got mine on the Non D.L or whatever you call it... But when said Officer goes back there and runs my DL for 5-7 minutes like he did, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it does comes up that you have a CCW... Mostly, because thats what I've been told by many folks... And your correct, no where (that I have read) is it posted that you have too tell them either way... I was told that they are going to see it when they run your DL and things seem to work smoother if you do tell'em up front... Not that you have too, just as a courtesy... But like you said, its not written that you have too, so it would seem you are free to do things as they work best for you... I'm new to it and thankfully only get pulled over like 1-2 times every 10 years... So I'm not sure yet... Any officers on here care to comment on your feelings on the subject? It'b be nice to get some official input from someone with a badge that deals with this on a day today... I know my opinion is like an * or an Elbow, in that most people have them... :) |

When they run your DL u better believe they know if your ccw, regardless of if the enorsement is on the DL or another state id. I think its called the mules system or something like that that shows them ccw holders. I dont believe u HAVE to tellm anything.. With MULES.......It doesn't show up under your DL if you have a Non-Driver ID. What it shows, is your name twice, then has DL and Non Driver ID (if they search by your name vs. DL number.) So, a cop would probably assume you have a CCW endorsement if he's you have an ID in addition to the DL. If they bring up the details on the ID, it will show the CCW. And you are correct, you are under no duty to inform them of that status, nor if you have a gun in the car. Anyone in the state over 18 y/o can have a loaded gun in the car without a permit, so why should the less than 1% that have a CCW feel it necessary to inform? If they NEED to know for their own "safety", they can ask about it, and I will respond truthfully. If they don't ask, I don't tell. |

Looks like I have to find someone tomorrow to help with a ticket in St. Peters. First one in 10 years... Guess I was due. The same guy I mentioned in post #2 can do it......He's fixed tickets in multiple counties for me. He can't do IL tickets though. :( |

I've used the guy in St. Peters too, it's in the shopping plaza between Target and Dierbergs on Mid Rivers.

Hopefully the prosecuting attorney has changed in Berkeley since I last had any dealings with them. Quote from Berkeley regarding amending a speeding ticket, "We don't do that." Greeeeat... Hopefully, thats not the case... I ended up using a recomendation from one of my longtime friends who gets tickets atleast monthly... Funny thing was, he got a ticket same day, pretty much same time I did just on 270 vs 170.... So, my friend said he'd drop both of our tickets off at the same time... He said the lawyer hits him up for 50 bucks for each ticket and has fixed a ton of them for him over the years... Tom said, when he was dropping of the tickets the lawyer said, Oh Yea... I know Officer (I can't remember the name)... He is like the #2 ticket writer in in the state... He told my friend he does tickets for this area all the time... So, hopefully, he can fix it... My luck you'll be right and I'll have to eat the points.. He said it would be amended to a loud exhaust and the fine would be like 120.00+ court costs.. (original was like 89.00). |

Yeah I think I know who gave you the ticket. I got one from him afew years back on the service road at the east end of the runway of STL at 6 am on Christmas eve for 11 over.... I was headed to work trying to finish up some things before the holiday. I was like ....MERRY EFFING CHRISTMAS to me!
Always polite (me AND him)...I know...just doing their job, but damn! I guess I'm a little bitter because that was the first of a string of back luck AND ON CHRISTMAS EVE!?!?!. hope you get it taken care of. |
