| Fox news just reported the dens have there 60 votes, did I miss something? I thought this wasn't going to pass? |
|
My understanding is that they are gunning for a final vote on Christmas Eve.
In some form or another it will eventually reach the president's desk. It is an inevitability. They ran on this as a major part of their platform, they have been trying to get something like this passed since the Johnson administration, and they aren't going to stop now. They are almost there and the finish line is in sight. The time to worry about this was before November 02, 2009. At this point there's nothing to do but spectate as they deliver on their campaign promises. You wanted free health care, America? Well congratulations. Here comes the big shit sandwich and we're all gonna have to choke it down. |

Yep. Were all fucked. Well, if you are a working tax payer you are.........
Let's all quit our jobs and get free stuff. I had to find this, it just makes me feel so fuzzy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P36x8rTb3jI

| Howard Dean came out last week and denounced the Dem's health care plan... He likened it to a health care bail out plan.... If Howard Dean's against it, that almost makes me for it....... Anybody remember what I said about this very subject last fall ?? I'm not as optimistic for the Dem's health care plan as I was then. This is really become a Lame Duck Presidency. quack.....quack...... If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck ...... it's Obama. |

Then it will have to go back to the House for reconciliation. Then there will be more voting. The House version has the public option, the Senate version does not. It's not looking good, but it isn't over yet. I honestly don't see the whole shebang getting completed by Christmas. Oh...and fuck those shitheads in DC. They represent the people my ass. I'll be looking forward to the midterm elections. It WILL be a political disaster for the Dims. The "inspired yout" and hype behind Obama's campaign won't bring out the libtard voters this time around. But there are a hell of a lot of PISSED OFF people that will be making a POINT to go vote these rats out. |

Unfortunately the damage will be done at that point and it is ALWAYS more difficult to get a law repealed than to stop it from being made into law in the first place. |

And I call bullshit on elections changing anything. They're going to pass amnesty, or put ACORN in charge of overseeing elections or some other trick, and they won't lose an election from here on. Something else will have to change, and I am afraid it will change everything. |
| Unfortunately most people in this country have no spine anymore as removing it was a prerequisite of receiving any entitlement program. More theft by our .gov from working men and women. I don't really wanna say in a public forum what I really think should happen, but I guarantee most people here are thinking it too. |

Yeah well...if that's the case I look forward to seeing how the SC will justify the forced purchasing of insurance, or otherwise face a stiff fine (tax). |

LOL!!! It's already mandated at the state level that you must buy car insurance. What is the difference? If someone doesn't have insurance Evo, you and I will be picking up the bill for their healthcare through our tax dollars or increased insurance premiums. I feel better with the notion that those mooching off the system have to pay a fine (tax) to help offset their cost instead of them walking in, getting free health care, and thus driving up the cost of my taxes and my private insurance. Now, if you want to truly mandate that if you don't have insurance, you don't get healthcare and make it stick as a policy, that changes the game. |

LOL!!! It's already mandated at the state level that you must buy car insurance. What is the difference? The difference is that car insurance is mandated to protect the "other guy" that you hit due to your negligence in an accident (which is why you can opt for liability only coverage). Health insurance is solely for protecting you (and your assets) against a catastrophic health issue that would ruin YOU financially. You should be able to opt out of "forced" insurance without facing penalty (tax). That's called freedom...and freedom lasts up until the point that it starts infringing on others' freedoms. You can argue (and I agree) that people getting medical care without insurance result in higher premiums for those that DO have insurance and that could be considered an infringement...but there are many REAL ways to reform health care that would greatly curb or eliminate this problem. Seems pretty cut and dry to me. Nobody gets "free" health care as it sits now. They will treat you without payment upfront to save your life or serious injury...but you'll get a bill. Sure, some people decide that they can't (in most cases, don't want to) pay for it and they will be sent to collections. Then you have all the illegal immigrants who get "billed", but because they are off the books in every sense of the word, there's really no way to force them to pay. But, having illegal immigrants flooding our medical system is a problem that should have been addressed in many different ways (it could have even been addressed in this bill). Politicians don't give a flying fuck about you or your well being. They don't care if everyone has access to affordable insurance in this country. This bill is NOTHING BUT A POWER GRAB of 1/6th of our economy and a way to further insert themselves into your life and try to control your activities via legislation. |
