Brownie points for anyone who can name the origin of this quote.  No GOOGLE allowed!

The world is always a democracy in times of flux, and the man with the best voice will win.  Everybody thinks Hitler got to power because of his armies, because they were willing to kill, and that's partly true, because in the real world power is always built on the threat of death and dishonor.  But mostly he got to power on words, on the right words at the right time.

Bingo!  I'm reading the book right now and I can't put it down.  When I read that little gem my mind lit up.

Asimov's short stories have a lot of political overtones as well, hell 99.9% of science fiction has political overtones. Some are just better formed and more specific. The shit going on to day is nothing new to humans.

Asimov is a little less blunt about it.

edit:
I'd mention Atlas Shrugged, but then everyone looks at me like I have  penis on my forehead and thermonuclear device in my pocket. It's really just fiction not science fiction.

I never cared for the Foundation series, but I regard I, Robot as one of the top sci-fi novels of all time.  Asimov captured my attention like few authors have.  I am feeling the same way about Ender's Game right now.  The other book that captured my attention like those two was Starship Troopers.

I'll probably read Atlas Shrugged very soon.  If it's half as good as arfcom says it is, I'll probably add it to my list.
