My dad just moved to Springfield (he also was born there in 1941). I want to send him my Rem 700 BDL 300 WM becayse we are going on an Alaskan hunt in Sept. He also has not found any gun stores there yet up to his standards. Any recommendations for a good gun stores who do transfers?
Thanks in adavance. |

By "from individuals," do you mean when I (and individual) pay Virginia Arms (a gun store) to ship it?
If not, I apologize for giving the wrong impression. I will have a local gun store ship for me on this end. If so, that is shocking. I have shipped guns to my brother in KS through the Cabela's in KC with no problem. |

No, from an individual meaning like if you didn't have your FFL ship it for you, you ship it to the receiving FFL directly. Some FFL's will accept guns from individuals as long as they provide the proper identification. Some, on the other hand, will not. You will have no problems though since you are going to have your FFL ship it to an FFL here. Good to go! |

Do you have any advice as to what Springfield gun store has the best combo of good service, selection, and prices? For example, IMO, Virginia Arms is the best by far I have encouuntered in n. Virginia. Is there something comparable there? |

| Loftis, they charge $15, cheapest around and they are BY FAR the nicest jewelry, gun, and pawn shop i have ever seen. Most pawnshops are dusty, dirty, hole in the walls, Loftis has a warm "Kmart/Target/Better than Walmart shopping" store feel to it, very clean and kept up |

+1 for Loftis. Never been there but I've spoken to both guys over on 417racing about firearm parts I was needing and they were super quick to reply even though they didn't have what I needed at that time. Very professional/easy to talk to, and they don't try shoving a sale down your throat like most other places. |
