Kick back and do nothing and draw a paycheck courtesy of ME. I work my a$$ off to make more the money I do so you F^cK$ can sit on your a$$es. Not a rant to most of the people in this forum, but... If your one of them... F^cK YOU. Apparently 20+ thousand in taxes wasn't enough for you to sit on your FAT LAZY A$$. Go buy your 60 inch plasma or your new car/truck with my money your worthless F^cK$!!!!! ![]() |

I've owed every year since I got married (2). In 2007 I was a married renter with no kids, who made significantly more than his wife. She was taxed properly for her income level, but when taxes on our combined income was assessed - wham, now we owe. Bought a house mid 2008, came in about $1000 from being able to "beat" standard deduction. Owed again.
Lesson? Taxes suck and my wife needs to make as much as I do.

Haven't done mine yet but the sorry IRS sent me a letter saying they think I owe them another $1800 for last years –– on top of the obscene amount they raped me for. ![]() Seems they want to tax me on the SSDI my late wife drew that year. Never mind that It was signed over straight to the nursing home where she spent her last 2 years. $300K out of pocket over 12 years to pay for her care –– we weren't a socialist country back then –– since the gubm't doesn't think I needed help caring for her. And now they want more. Guess we're paying for all those Escalades with the fancy spinners! |

Quoted: I don't think I qualify for any of those tax cuts.As I keep telling everyone else, you ain't seen nuttin yet! Remember, the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010..... I think you have to make less than 110K for most of those. Child tax credits drop to only about 900 after that, from 3000. What a ripoff. |

I think kids are a bullshit tax credit anyway, as is tax deductions for mortgage interest...they're both personal choices. There's no reason why *I* should pay extra taxes due to not having any children, or for not owning a home; than somebody that has 5 kids and a mortgage payment - I wonder who uses more "tax money"? Yeah, I guess I fall into that "flat taxer" category. But as long as we're all being taxed into oblivion anyway, I can't fault anyone for keeping more of THEIR money - that is, except for those that somehow get more back in tax refunds than they ever paid in - that shit blows my mind

Quoted: Quoted: I'm loving life this year on taxes - getting over $5K back. What changed? Reduction in household income (wife did not work at all 4 months last year), addition of a kid, moving expenses and the purchase of a new home. |

Going to Louisville the middle of April for the big ol' airshow - figure I won't wanna go back to MO after visiting the Jim Beam distillery, the Corvette museum, and the bad ass airshow. |

I sympathize.
Send letters to Congress and the Whitehouse with the message that you're tired of supporting leeches and the gluttonous spending habits of the Federal goverment. Whether every letter is read in detail or not, they'll start hearing the drone of dissent from those of that are pissed off. I'm waiting on the royal rape by The Kenyan's tax project next year. I got a pretty decent raise this year, and although I haven't checked the tax tables this year, when I looked at my 2007 taxes I was right on the boundary to get kicked into the next tax increment (you know, that punitive progressive tax schedule we've had for years), and I think my net income will be slightly lower than last year. I need a mortgage or a house full of new kids, or something. |

Kick more pre-tax dollars into your IRA. I kept increasing my IRA withholdings 2% at a time and at one point my pay check actually got larger after the increased withholdings due to my taxable income falling down into a lower tax bracket. I called HR about it and asked where the next tax rate tier was and they said something along the lines of "Oh honey, don't worry about that. You'd have to put in ~50% of your check for that to happen." Well, that's a wee bit to much for me if I want to make the mortgage payment and keep the lights on. Along those notes, please tell me if there's any good reason not to start a Roth IRA with my post-tax dollars? |

You're right about the 401k, and I've been negligent. I'm going to fix that. |

Watch your wallets next year!!!
Our new buddy Mr. O had them lower the withholding rates so we all take home more each paycheck this year (to 'stimulate' the economy)...but the tax rates definitely are NOT going down, so if you don't watch it, you will owe EVEN MORE next year!! Be warned!! |

I'm wondering how long it will take for the power-grabbers in washington to pass legislation that will allow them to keep tax refunds whenever they deem necessary. The State of MO did that a couple of years ago didn't they? They ran out of money and had to hold off on sending refund checks for a couple of weeks. That's why I at least do my taxes right away and if I owe, that check goes out at 11:59PM on tax day. But since I'm a single income family with a couple of kids and a mortgage I usually get back more then I even pay in each year... |
