Because every human being on the planet has the capacity to do good or evil. I do not know who out there is good and who is evil. But I do know one thing for certain. The world if filled with people who desire to do evil. There is nothing any human alive will ever be able to do to change that.

The only thing I can do is be a castle. A moving domain where good people can find safety and respite. We are all called to be a fortress for good. We are called to take responsibility and ownership for our safety and the safety of other brothers and sisters that we encounter. It is the only way that peace and justice will cover the land.

No one else can do this for us. To pass this duty on to other's is no different than the animals; who, when one of their brethren are being eaten alive by the lions, turn their heads away in a group, so as to pretend that it is not happening. We must not put our trust in the flock, who will not even look us in the eye when we are slaughtered. Nor must we let our brother stand alone. We must be individually strong and loyal to each other. We cannot pawn off our responsibility and trust onto others. We cannot trust in the walls of the community, we must be the fortress; both individually and collectively.

If we are not all individually strong and stable, then together we will collapse upon the burden of each other
