Isn't this the second "planned but never executed" assassination attempt that was busted in the last few months?

Wow. These jackasses probably would have been shot and killed during the "stealing guns from a dealer" part of their plan

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  An assassination of Obama is a worst case scenario for us.  Far better that he have an awful presidency that ruins his reputation and makes people rue the day they voted Dem way back in 2008.  Look how people view JFK simply because of what happened in Dealey plaza.  JFK wasn't even that great a president but his assassination was his best career move.  If you think people treat Obama like a rock star now, if he gets taken out by some emo skinhead who got off a lucky shot the Dems will treat him like a God.  We'll never hear the end of how great Obama was going to be, before he was cut down in his prime, and how all our children should strive to embody his ideals.

Leave this man alive to fail, for in death he can only achieve victory.

Awful plan and I'm glad it didn't work out for many reasons including what Duke wrote above.  But at least that is, was, a nice rifle.

Tangent gripe:

At least they only gave Kennedy the half dollar, which nobody uses, and the USS Kennedy is retired now.

We should put a min 10 year waiting period on any honors like images on coins, aircraft carrier, building, or airport names, etc.

OK, Regan was a very popular president, and he's dead now, so the USS Ronald Regan is OK, I guess.  George Bush was an OK president that served with distinction in WWII, but giving him an aircraft carrier is pushing it.  And WTF:  the USS Gerald R Ford????

What ever happened to giving ships cool historical names like Yorktown, Saratoga, Midway, and Enterprise?   We are actually replacing the Enterprise with a Ford.

Actually I think the rifle is a Federal Arms FA91, which someone from the MOHTF just saved me from buying one.  After a little more research, that thing is a POS.

You know, upon closer examination of the photo, you're right and that is one of those POS Federal Arms cast aluminum receivers.  I thought it was a real 91.  It figures that they wouldn't be bright enough to use a quality rifle.

On a Further Tangent, A man who served with distinction and lost his life trying to rescue a fellow warrior, TSgt. John Chapman, Airforce Cross (that is the second highest award you can get by the way), Posthumous gets a US NAVAL Container ship named after him??? WTF?

Yep.  The rail on top gave it away for me.  Only 91 series type rifle I have ever seen with an integrated weaver rail on the top of it.  Actually got to fondle a used HK91 the other day in the local store, was $1700.  There is no comparison to the real thing!

$1700 for a real HK91?   Wow.

After Obama bans transfers on semi-autos that thing is going to be worth double.  Damn my lack of disposable income!
