I'm looking at SureFire Cans, the FA556-212 Suppressor and the FA556AR (M4FA) Suppressor. Which one would I want, I have a 14.7" SS Barreal, IOB Bond Douglas Premium , 1:7, M4 Ramp barrel. I don't know much about suppressors, so I wanted to get some of your opionions? Thanks, AR15_44E |

I have 2 212's waiting for the stamps to come in. I went with the 212 due to wanting to use them on a couple of 10.5" uppers. The OAL difference is just over a 1/2 inch between the two models, if you might want to use it on a shorter barrel in the future I'd suggest the 212. yak |
There is some great info over at silencertalk.com |
Kelly, I knew you were going to buy me one for my birthday. I could kiss you ![]() BTW - Thanks for the barrel wrench |
Yep, what Jerad said. I read it just the other day. Check out the pictures of the weld before you make your decision. Linky I'm waiting on a SWR SpecWar QD but the AAC M4-2K looks like it is hard to beat...I might have to pickup both of them if I can save up enough cash... |

silencertalk has some good information but it is heavily slanted towards AAC. Some say the suppressor forum on this site is slanted towards Gem-tech. If it weren't for their business practices I would be one of AAC's biggest supporters as I think they make a great product but I cannot willingly support them. yak |
I agree with both of your statements. However, the discussions and information are of great value if you weed through all the cheerleaders. I also do not agree with their business practices so SWR gets most of my business but I still believe that AAC is making some of the best .223 cans currently. I have one of their G36-SD cans that I picked up years ago (which is the same as the Ranger) and I have been very happy with it. They have made a lot of improvements since then and I am getting tempted to give their M4-2008 a try. |

Yeah it's a situation where I'd probably have been better off being ignorant of all the sideshow shenanigans that go on. I would have bought a few of their cans, other merchandise and been none the wiser. I went with Surefire for my 5.56 cans as they came highly recommended by a few friends whom I trust. I'm still looking for a good 9mm can for sometime next Spring/Summer time frame. yak |
yak, When you are ready for that 9mm can, you may want to give the SWR Trident 9 a try. I should have one coming in soon if you want to try it out before you buy your next can. |
This makes me happy! Any ETA yet? Guess it doesn't really matter until my LLC C&R gets approved... |
NO ETA's from SWR so far. The NFA branch is taking forever on transfers currently. |
