My new threaded Glock 19 barrel arrived today.  Now I'm just waiting on my C&R and August 28th so I can order a suppressor.

Who makes that barrel, who sells it, how much is it, what is the thread pitch and do they sell a thread protector for when the can is not attached?

And do they sell one for a G-17, I kinda want it to be a "GLOCK" barrel but let us know.

The barrel is made by Lone Wolf Distributors.  The threads are 1/2x28.   Gemtech unoffically recommends the LDW barrels for use with their suppressors.  The black barrels are $129.95, the stainless barrels are $114.95.  A thread protector is sold separately for $14.95.

They carry barrels for most Glock models.  I'm very impressed with the quality of this product.  I hope it lives up to the hype on the LDW website.

I have read that Glocks are the most difficult to suppress. Is this true? If so, why?

Nice! I have been thinking about a lone wolf for my 17. Did you buy directly from lone wolf or from another source? Also, what kind of can are you planning on purchasing?

I went down here to drop off one of these and one of these to have a little work done to the barrels to accept one of these so that after August 29th, I too will be celebrating quietly.

Also, check these guys for price after you decide which one (or more) you want.

LWD was sold out of the black barrels so I got mine off Gunbroker for $129.00 shipped.  I haven't heard anything about Glocks being hard to suppress.  I'd like to get a Gemtech or YHM can to play around with.

It's the way the weapon functions, you either must use an extremely light suppressor or use a suppressor with a recoil booster. There are several major manufacturers who manufacture suppressors that are compatible with Glock pistols. Just keep in mind you can't hang a can like an old MK-9 or sionics on one and expect it to function.

Because it's a Glock.  With a suppressed Glock you get twice the KaBOOM, with only half the noise!!!

Glocks (or any other autoloader that does not have a solid barrel to the frame mount) are a little more difficult to have function properly suppressed without a proper recoil "booster" or LCD or Nielsen device.

I plan on getting a Gemtech Tundra for my Glocks and my Walther P-99 which have similar actions. I have used one of a friend of mine's and that combo works real good.

I don't think there's any problem making a Glock as quiet as any other pistol.  As others have written, the problem usually is getting a pistol with a moving barrel (Glock, 1911, Beretta, S&W auto, HK, etc)  to cycle properly once you hang that heavy can on the end of the barrel.  A "booster" device of some sort is usually required.

There are a few pistols on the market that were specifically designed for use with a can and they generally work reliably without a booster.  HK markets their "Tactical" line along with their behemoth Mk23 pistol as such.

I'd like to get a 9mm can and use it with a PPK clone.  Fixed barrel should have no problem, plus you got that whole Bond thing going on.

Out with the old,

in with the new.

Bond has moved on...

This will be one of my first purchases when everything goes through on the 28th.

Oooohhh that SD looks so cooool.  That .22LR SD has to be close to Hollywood quiet.

I just picked up a GSG-5 and want to do a SBR with a muzzle treaded suppressor.

Gemtech stated that they will retrofit any GSG-5 with the SD barrel. There is a thread in the GSG forum with pictures of GSG's that are SBR'ed with cans. They look pretty damn cool!
