Anyone get into the long range precision thing? I have a 600 yrd and 980 yrd range i shoot at all the time with gongs all over the place, 300, 365, 400 and 565 yrds on the 600 yrds range and the 980 i just put targets up where i want them.

Just got new toy, bought NIB, Remington 700 PSS 26" heavy brl, HS Presicion stock in  308, badger 20 MOA base, Nightforce NXS 5.5x22x50 with NP-R2 ILL ret and also have Savage 10FP in 308 and 223 with Burris Black Diamond 8x32x50 scope i play with also, actually the 223 belongs to the daughters who shoot the 1ftx1ft gong at 565 yrds 57 times out of 60 shots fired at it, not bad for 7, 9 and 10 yr old girls.

Anyway, i plan on goin to the range and breakin the new toy in and wanted to see if anyone else wanted to throw some bullets. This long range stuff is awesome, beats the hell out of the machineguns, im even sellin one of the beltfeds but im gonna replace it with a f/a MP5K-PDW and AM-180, but for the most part all i ever do is shoot the bolt guns anymore. The MG's set in the safe except the M16 which is upstairs leanin against the entertainment center with mud all over it from the daughter runnin aroundin the woods with it in .22 shootin up the place.

If your up for some LR shootin shoot me a PM, no emails, and we can go throw some bullets, i have 120 bowlin pins and other reatctive targets we can shoot also. Let me know.

I have a rifle or two I would love to get back out on a long range. I definitely would be interested.
Of course I would have to get out my load book logs and see what the hell I had working for me years ago.

Beltfed, Thanks for the offer. But if the offer is still open this next spring I would like to stretch my soon to be new toy's legs some. First got to get it (January some time) and then zero in the scope and work up some loads to 600 yrds. Then man I would love to rip up some targets at almost 100 yrds.

So for now, can I take a rain check. You might like to try out my toy too. And Gary has a nice toy to try out also.

Thanks

I would defiantly be interested.  I have a Remmy 700P as well that I've always wanted to "open up" on a longer (than 100 yrd) range.

you wouldn't happen to be talking about the owensville gun club would you? If so, I was out there around the Thanksgiving weekend, and was out there with my grandfather. I may have spoken to you. I actually live about 3 hrs away, but would love to shoot at that range longer distances with my Remington 700P LTR in .308. Let me know if you're talking about the Owensville Gun Club.

I'd love to do some long range shooting.

I've got a Sako TRG in .308 with Nightforce 5.5-22x56 that needs to be shot at more than 200 yards.

Let me know when you want to shoot.

I'm going to be in owensville around the weekend just before christmas. I'll probably bring my Rem. 700P LTR. All i have is a nikon monarch scope, but it did fine for a 400yd shot on a deer this season. Which coincidentally enough, was near owensville. I live over in Warrensburg, MO, but go to owesville pretty often. Next time i'm down, i'll IM you over arfcom, and see if you want to go shooting.

That day I was out there and met, i believe it was you, I was shooting .300winmag, .30-'06, and .243. With the .300winmag, i was able to hit one of the middle gongs a few times, but the light was fading fast. My grandfather was one of the charter members of the gun club, but does that mean he needs to be with me if I wanted to go shoot down there? I don't want to just invite myself. Thanks.

Holy crap Wayne, been a while. Sounds like you have upgraded your gear. That new stick has got to be a shooter! I finally got my PSS built up on an AICS, had it shooting sub 1/4MOA, but then needed cash. So I am stickless again. As funds come in, I am going to try to put together a .338 Lapua rig. We should try to get a shoot together...actually, I guess that is what you are doing!
