Josh will be my lovely assistant for this class.  Both classroom and shooting will be indoors, climate controlled, so the weather on that Sunday won't matter a whit.

I would love to attend, but I have to spend all my extra money for the month buying gifts for the family.

How often do you guys hold classes? I would be down if there was a class in late Jan or Feb. I would probably have a friend that would want to go also.

Ok folks, I still have a few slots open.  Email me at [email protected] if you want in.  The class will begin this Sunday, December 2, 9am, at 106 S. Main Street in Independence, MO.  Both classroom instruction and shooting will be indoors, climate controlled, so weather will not be a factor.  Its an 8 hour course so it'll take the majority of the day.  Bring an automatic and a revolver, if you don't have both I will have loaner guns for people to use.  Bring 100 rounds for each, if you need a loaner gun bring 9mm or .38 Special as appropriate.  Cost is $100.

We usually do them every month and a half or so.  I got a call today from a student who has to cancel for this Sunday, but she wants to go in on the January class as well.  So, I guess that's three for January so far.

Double tap.  Arfcom is acting weird.

In honor of the double tap, I will post a pic of a doubletap, instead of just wasting this post.

For those on the fence about going You need to know that even after already taking a class for CCW I took Mr Branson's class, there is nothing like learning the most important aspects of this Law from someone with real case experience.  The assets that Mr Branson brings to the class with his background in law make it a truly worth while experience, not to mention a great bunch of guys as well.

You have to admit that it would have been a really great CCW class.

Hey, good class today. Thanks for getting me and my father in on such short notice. Let me know if you are ever interested in shooting or if you decide to have that other class we talked about.

I'll probably give you a call or e-mail at some point to talk about those double feeds today, and how to fix it. Definitely want to get that fixed before I start to carry it.  Probably will have you do some work on the LTR when you get time too, but I guess you've got quite the back log. Thanks again.

+1

Awesome Class Duke, very informative and answered all questions asked.

The case law and the attorney viewpoint, I think was a very informative and insightful addition to the class.

I would most definitely recommend Duke's class to those considering taking one, thanks again!

And Jeepilot, I think you may have changed my mind from a 1911 to a 228.

I shot as well with it as I do with 1911's (which isn't great), and it had the compact size, but also added higher mag capacity, which was my primary worry with the 1911.

As I was cleaning the 226 after I got home, I was reminiscing of shooting your 228 with those Hogue grips.

There were quite a few Sigs out that day. For the exception of the FTE, which I'm still mad about, it's been a fantastic gun. Accurate, well balanced, high capacity, comfortable to shoot, and hey, it's a Sig. Only bad part about the 228 is you're limited to 9mm, but the 229 is available in .40 and .357sig and is the same size.

You all really need to get JakeT into one of these classes.  He still doesn't have his CCW.  That's a shame in it's self, but he's also got a G26, G19, G30 and a Kahr CW40 that he can't legally carry!  No, he doesn't carry illegally, but I'd like to see him get his permit and get it out of the way so  he can!

Give him heck guys, I'll ride him too.

wait...that didn't sound right.  Oh well

At least he's not taken the class, I know a member of the forum that's taken TWO ccw courses and still doesn't have his permit!

Is it because of our infamous Jackson County guy?  Just curious.

That reminds me.  Duke I'm going to need to ask for another Certificate of Completion since I seem to have misplaced mine somewhere in my move.
