I saw our own Duke Nukem on Channel 41 this morning protesting the sex offender home in Holden!!! I about fell outta my chair and yelled DUKE!!!But I think yelling that at 5:30 in the mornin wouldnt go well with the wife and kids!!!  Fight the good fight Duke! BTW were you shaking? |

Yeah I was shaking. I was really surprised at the crowd reaction to me. There were so many people there that they set up a PA system to broadcast outside the building, so if you made a statement you had to hold this little microphone. Well I'm not used to that, I talk with my hands. So I tried to hold this mic still and the harder I tried to hold it still the more I shook. But my vocals were good. There were more than 500 citizens of Holden there. When I gave my statement I talked about how nobody wants this sort of thing in their backyard. You could go from town to town, city to city in the entire country and nobody would say "yes" to a halfway house for sex offenders in their backyard. So if you're a land developer and you're looking for a place to put this thing, you have to find a town that's disorganized, ineffectual, irrelevant. And I yelled out, "Is that us?" And a bunch of people yelled "no!". I repeated, "IS THAT US?" and 500 people stood up and yelled "NO!!!" and applauded. So after that I got pretty shaky for the rest of my statement. The part they showed on TV was near the end where I was getting ready to finish strong. Afterwards the crowd sorta gave me a standing ovation, people were clapping me on the shoulder and shaking my hand and stuff. I usually try to stay out of politics but this is just too important to look the other way. |
Duke, your fucked now buddy. This is how it starts. One little local issue. One thing in the hometown that stirs a soul to step forward, take a stand and lead the charge. Then it snowballs. Next you will be approached by some people to sit on the city council, or the county commission. Next thing you know you will signing up to put your name on the ballot, and then you find yourself in Jefferson City..........

Some one please explain to me what is wrong with building a home near Holden to hold up to 400 sex offenders? I think it is a great idea!!! The feral cat hunt with a Coehorn mortar You will not have to bait the sex offenders to get them in the target area like you would for feral cats. |
| I'd vote for Duke in a heartbeat! I think he'd author the "Integral Hearing Protection Device Initiative" bill that would subsidize suppressors for all of us. Seriously though, how the fuck do sex offenders get advocates???!?!? FUCK!!! Sorry, I need to get more sleep. |
