Hello, I might be moving to Missouri  .. What I can figure out about Missouri gun laws is if I am going to buy a handgun I need a permit to purchase one.. I was wondering what to do if I already have several handguns before moving to Missouri??Thank You |
Call the county sheriff's station where you are moving to. I have no ideal what to do with ones already own, but you are right about new purchases. You'll have to get a permit to transfer. Each county has there own waiting period. In Jackson county it's 7 days.

Good news for you, nothing at all !!!!  The permits are to purchase, gift, loan etc. not own. Although there isn't supposed to be any registration it is a defacto registration and tax since you pay the Sheriff for the permit. It's a law that needs to go!!!!!!! I don't know what to do other than complain to my state reps. and this is at the top of my list when I do.Rick SGF, Mo. |
