I hope Mike has as much fun doing this gig as I had doing it.  I appreciate the continuing support I am receiving from all of you, but I didn't believe it fair for the Hometown Forum mod to be overseas for so long.

Mike is conversant with the laws, and you folks, so I couldn't think of another, better choice.  Well, that wasn't Dutch

HAVE FUN!!!

-Duke-Nukem-, moderator??????

There is nothing Moderate about the Nuke-Dukem...

Now, I could believe a title like

                  -Duke-Nukem-,Terminator or possibly
                  -Duke-Nukem-,Extreminator

Congrats, Duke...   you'll be an awesome, if somewhat unconventional, Moderator...

Woman: Well how'd you become king then?

You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you!

Sub, are you back from Mexico?  Your Bar-sto has been fitted to your P14 Limited but since you didn't give me a mag for it I can't test fire it.  It locks up tight and unlocks properly now though.

Lots of internet business getting started, I'm pretty happy about that, and we're making progress on our own builds.  The prototype gun should be test fired tomorrow morning and I think it will run 100%.  I spent all day in the shop today prepping trunions for a big build day we are going to have next Saturday.  I finally found some Cobalt bits that will drill through hardened steel nicely, although I still broke one of them.  Cursed like a sailor at Trent when it happened too.  There goes $4, motherf@%&ing sonofa bowlegged b!^#h!

Duke,

I'll give you a call later today.  Looking forward to testing out the P14 with the suppressor when I get some free time.  Hope it sounds a good as it did on the HK Tactical.

I haven't found a bit yet that I can't break.  I bent a concrete bit a few weeks ago when I was putting up new hand rails on my steps when I hit some rebar or part of an old anchor bolt.

Same here , have you got a web site up yet ....

No website yet but frankly I'm not in a hurry, business is rolling in regardless!  Seems like I'm at the shop almost every night of the week trying to get stuff done and people are already sending in parts kits from as far away as Alaska for us to do AK builds on.  Frankly I've got enough work lined up that I don't really need to advertise just yet.  One gentleman from Illinois has ordered what has to be one of the most wicked, most expensive AKs I've ever heard of.  I'm really looking forward to doing the build, but I'm a little nervous since the heart of the thing is a $400 milled sidefolder receiver.  Sure would hate to bugger that thing up.

I know I would love to see some pictures of the finished products when you get a chance.

I like side folding AK's        They hold a special place in my heart

Check out the reciever this Krink is going to be built on then.  The trunions are machined right in there and even the side cut for where the folding stock hooks into place is already cut.  That's a badass receiver right there, you know where your four bones are going.

Isn't that just wicked?

I'm guessing that's an MLS99?  Would one of those $99.95 parts kits from AIM be compatible with those receivers?  AIM calls 'em "Romanian AK-75", whatever that is.
10/12/2005 4:42:11 AM EDT
[#32]
Is there much of a weight difference is there in the milled receiver compared to the stamped ?
10/12/2005 4:54:57 AM EDT
[#33]
also doesnt that require another us part since its milled?

Ronald
10/12/2005 4:55:01 AM EDT
[#34]
Yeah, the milled receivers weigh noticeably more.  In AR15s, think 20 inch DPMS heavy barrel vs. govt. profile 20 inch barrel.  Except that the weight is in the receiver.

I believe the MSL99 can be used with the $90 Romanian kits, yes.  Why you would want to put the world's roughest parts kit on the world's most expensive receiver, I don't know, but yeah you could do it.

Duke congrats on the Mod position.
Where are you located in MO? It's hard to find a good smith in Northeast MO.
What kind of price to build a Akron Armorey Bulgarian AK74 sidefolder. It came with all the compliance parts, I just need a receiver and a smith. Would need the receiver finished to match the rest of the kit.
Thanks

Less parts, because a milled receiver doesn't use a seperate barrel trunnion.
