Anyone in north KC hear anything about a blast that shook houses in Liberty yesterday (Monday, 7/18) late-afternoon / evening?

Supposedly a couple of people set off some sort of bomb on the doorstep of a house just down the street from my old house, just curious to know if anyone has heard anything about it.

I didn't hear anything about it at all.  Of course I try to keep my head in the sand, I hate seeing my kids on TV and all.

I thought you'd watch the news so you could have a heads-up of what sort of stuff you're going to have to deal with.

Well, knowing some of the kids in the area, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be some little punks playing with dry ice, hot water, and bottles, which would explain why it didn't make the news.

huh? water main?

Lemme guess.....Kansas City STILL can't keep the pipes from breaking.

At least when I lived there they'd only break in the winter.

My kids wouldn't know what to do with all that stuff, rudimentary physics is beyond them.  Their style is more like going to the house of the girl they have a crush on and setting fire to the curtains with an aim-n-flame, then claiming they didn't realize the house would burn down and they just meant it to be  a joke.  Dry ice bombs are frankly beyond their imagination.

But hey, we did have a pretty good fire at a tire warehouse in the west bottoms today.  Lots of black smoke, made me imagine that we had called in an artillery strike on one of the poor sections of town like they did in Oklahoma in 1921.

Did I mention I have a really sick imagination?

My old cube at birch was perfect for looking at the bottoms.

Burning tires might have improved the smell down there!     I wished I had brought my camera with me that day.  I went past while it was really burning good.
