HKocher, chech out the latest CDNN add, I think they had used 228s for around 300 bucks.

Yeah, they have them for $370 (+$20 for hand select).  I've been carrying a copy of the ad around in my pocket for the last two weeks, but I haven't gotten the courage to order yet.  Don't know how I feel about buying a police trade in without eyeballing it first.

REally the police trade ins are usually no worse off than a typical target gun most have a little holster wear and they have been fired but they are cleaned by the armorer and lubed. The officer rarely ever fires the thing, usually only for Quals. So police trades aren't that bad if they have a markup for special select it is usually worth it. By the way many of the police trades have night sights etc. Usually a very good deal for the money.
