Any thing to watch out for or positive things about Chelsea, AL? Looking at possibly moving there from across town... How's the city government? Good for kids there, etc...

we love Shelby County. great schools and parental involvement. low taxes. we live in Oak Mountain but have lots of friends in Chelsea. you definitely get more house for the $$ out there. HWY 280 can be a bitch about 4 hours out of the day though.

I graduated there. It's a growing small town. Lots of suburban type neighborhoods mixed with rural area with many acres of land.

Pretty good schools. HS kids hanging out in the Winn Dixie parking lot. etc. Just a normal small town.

Besides dealing with 280 traffic its not a bad place to live IMO.
