I heard that someone is working on an outdoor range in the Springville area....anyone know anything? Indoor ranges are ok but I like the outdoors. Boy do I miss my youth and all day trips to shoot in the stripmines.....
I'm beginning to think I will have to buy some land up against a mountain so I can make my own range where shooting cans is ok. |

someone may be building a new one but we have been in that neighborhood since 1990, Birmingham's most NFA friiendly venue (if you have paperwork you can shoot it), heck our president is one of the biggest class III dealers in the area....

Johnny K is working on the range in Springville, it is in the works and is still coming. But he is waiting for a contract to finish and then it should not be too long after. The opening dat was November now pushed back early next year. He said he will have at least a 500yrd range and something like 20 pistol bays. I know Johnny and I have no reason to doubt him that he is working on it.
I thought Heritage was full and not accepting members, people come by the store and ask for a range all the time. I am also a Heritage member I like that it is quite and people mind their business. |

Heritage capped membership at 200 to keep it that way (quiet and never too busy), end of 2010 they were not taking applicants, but enough members have moved or dropped out that they have a limited number of slots I think.
That would be great if we had another range in the East side of town that had a 500 yard firing line, I could drop my Steel City membership because their big rifle range is the only reason I keep it...Heritage tops out at 120 yards and will for a while. |
