Guys, I'm thinking about going tomorrow. Is this a traditional gun show and not a collectors show? AR, AK parts, mags, ammo, etc... Thanks, jd1 It is run by the Alabama Gun Collectors Assn., and known as the "Collector's Show" to differentiate it from the Great Southern Shows (or Ernie Bean) gun shows. This show is larger than the GSS shows. This one should be 600+ tables (as advertized) ETA: it will have plenty of evil gun parts. Ill be there tomorrow morning. Look for the guy with the big Browning |

Ok,
Any of you guys who have followed the ATF Operation Fast and Furious scandal may know Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars. He is at the show (Wall 1 table 28) (Front right corner as you walk in the door). He is trying to raise money to go to Washington for the hearings on Gunrunner and has some stuff for sale. He has M1/M2 Carbine "Hardback" mags for sale and IIRC some other things. Anyway, he has done a great service in his investigation and reporting of the ATF scandal, and I thought I would see if anyone would be willing to check with him and try and help him out. |

Once I waded through all the crap, there were some good deals on mags, some of the ammo, and ammo cans. Also, I was able to find some parts that I required. Overall, it's fun to go to and see some folks and rumble around looking for that "elusive great buy". |

Picked up another Mosin, this time an M44 for $120 out the door. Clean bore, tight bolt action, good sights. I was really happy finding that one. Also a 440rd spam can of good ole corrosive com bloc 7.62x54R for the Mosin's.
Coupla crush washers, stripper clip spoons for the AR's. And a multi-fuel Coleman stove, all good prices. I was happy with the show. |
