I've got a down payment in with them for a pistol class. Actually, two. My wife and I have scheduled a a defensive pistol class for January. I got a call tonight from a friend that has about 30 years with LE, and I trust him a lot. He says that Tiger, the main instructor there is a douche-bag with an ego, and I need to steer clear. My friend spent 15 years in swat, and is a state certified instructor. Now I'm second guessing the $400 I've down as a down payment on the class. WTF?? |

If anyone's a douche-bag, it's not Tiger. The wife and I took his Defensive Handgun (at separate times) and we both thought he was very professional and the class was well worth the money. My wife is as surprised by your friend's comment as I was - she felt she was treated professionally and with respect as a woman and student.
Your wife might want to see if Tiger's wife will answer some questions she might have - she is very knowledgeable about carry issues, equipment, etc. from a woman's point of view. I have no affiliation with him and do not know him outside of my class time. |

It is probably your friend who has the ego problem...Not Tiger. .. I guess you probably know that he also works close with Clint Smith..and has been one of his instructors for a long time.. He has aslo published a bunch of articles for magazines like SWAT...He is very knowlegable, and well trained...You will love the one on one classes...I have taken the Defensive Pistol, Defensive Carbine, and Precission Rifle under him, and highly reccommend him. You will find he is full of knowledge, and will be willing to answer any questiions. Be prepared to shoot to you drop..
Tiger is also a shooter...I have a LEO Instructor friend that has come up against him in several of his advanced classes..He says Tiger usually wins... I believe him. Go and enjoy, and learn. KS-10 |

WTF?? Is your friend in competition with Shoot Rite? I've had two classes there and experienced nothing remotely like what your friend contends. I would suggest this. If you are intending to improve skills used with concealed carry check and see if it would be ok to wear some sort of jacket or garb to simulate what you would wear on the street. The people in my classes (and myself) dressed more like what a LEO would wear. When I was driving home it occurred to me that I had wasted some good practice at drawing from concealed. |
| I met him at a store opening in Guntersville a few weeks back. He was a really nice guy who took the time to talk with me and answer some questoins I had about training. He did not come off as a know it all with an ego problem. Confident in his answers and his abilities, yes, but not an ego problem there I could see. |

Very helpful. Seems the ONLY person with a problem is my friend. |
