She is around eleven and has been the best housebroken dog ever. Never pees in the house. Over the last week she is peeing in the floor everyday. Sometimes at night also. Wife thinks its because we are expecting our second child and she is acting out. I don't know what it. Is. Any ideas?

Urinary tract infection and diabetes are the first things I would consider, with kidney disease following close behind due to age. Acting out usually involves targeting items of clothing, etc. belonging to whatever person they resent at the moment. Sounds like it would be worth checking things out at your regular vet... and congrats on the baby!

Edit: Forgot to mention estrogen-dependent "Spay incontinence", happens a lot in older spayed females. Very treatable.

Thanks for the reply. Never thought bout any of that.  And no she is not a democrat. I would cut her teets off and sell them on ebay if I found out she voted for the kenyan.

thanks for the advice.  took her to my vet over in grayson valley today.  she is diabetic.  the doc put her on a strict diet of science diet w/d and insulin twice a day.  hopefully this will get her back to a decent quality of life.

You guys use Dr. Grimmett?

Glad you got it sorted out. Diabetes in dogs is a pretty treatable disease, but it does require dedication to keep up the routine.
