Will the show tomorrow be any good? It's the Great Southern Gun & Knife Show.  I may go out of morbid curiosity, if nothing else.

crowded.  the line was crazy to get in, but since we had rifles to check in, we got in fast in that line.  I brought one of my ARs just to get a feel for things, and had people all day asking to sell it to them.  The first one in the door was prepared to give me $1k.  (Armalite upper, Eagle Arms lower, KISS M4).

My cousin walked out with a homebuilt AR off of a fellow for $850.  Probably the cheapest AR sold in the show.

Saw a couple ARfcomers there too

Cheapest AR I saw was a Sabre Defense for $850.

i picked up a sabre defense lower for $150.  not a deal but not a rape either.  ashley(the red head selling parts) had $279 doublestar lowers.  that was crazy.  i am headed back tomorrow to pick up some shells for my 12 guage.  a guy in the back had 10 boxes of 00buck for $45.00.  not a bad deal.  father in law wants to go so he talked me into going back with him.  hopefully there won't be as many people there tomorrow.  i think because of the iron bowl everyone was just trying to get in there early this morning and it was just miserable.  there is suppose to be a huge one in atlanta next weekend i am kinda tempted to go to. i did see a few $40.00 pmags.  oh and i did see a 10mm upper for an ar with one magazine.  i have always kinda wanted a 10mm rifle but couldn't talk myself into buying it.

i don't mind her.  she is really friendly and always has what i need.  I can't blame her for trying to make a buck.  if she can sell a dpms stripped lower for $289 then she is free to do it and deserves to reap the rewards.  this is america.  the land of the FREE.  more power to her.  i am free to complain about her prices and move on to find my buys somewhere cheaper.  in the past i have called her to order stuff and she would  bring it to show to save me shipping.  just a weird time for firearms right now.  on one side of the show i was like wow this is it.  everything is out of sight.  crazy prices.  then on the other side prices were not that bad(not great but seen worse) and everything was nice and calm.  i just wish i could have found a dillon 550 to do some trading on.  alabama ammo said they had some on back order.  will just have to keep looking.

that may well be my last show i ever attened.

if anyone had ANY doubts that dealers at shows were out for nothing more than screwing the pubilc this was confirmation. i saw a handful of dealers that had maintianed prices, notable Alabama Ammo and the surplus guy.

i made note and will go out of my way to insure i NEVER buy a damn thing from the guys with 35.00 beat to shit ar mags and 1700.00 used polish under folder ak's.

the show was PACKED but i saw VERY few buying anything and walking the entire show i counted 2 yes 2 guns being sold.... a handgun at angry jeff's table and a rifle from souther firearms and appraisals. SFA was one of the ONLY dealers with consistant prices from the last show.

I have no idea what you people are talking about with all this grousing.  We all know that folks are being unreasonable on ammo and "icky" guns, so just take that off the table.  OK, now that we are discussing the rest of the show, it was pretty good.  I got a very fair price for my GP100, and hopped into another Kel-Tec P32.  The GP100 was a safe queen, and since I don't hunt, totally useless to me.  The Kel-Tec will be another nice carry piece, I really like those pistols.  I did notice it odd that there were *zero* M44s there, very odd.  I like to pick up one of those each gun show.  There were quite a few dealers with AR mags at perfectly reasonable prices.  Very busy today, everybody in a good mood, had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

You may all resume your grousing.

USGI O.K.I. NIB for $19.99.

Many others in that range.  The ones priced unreasonably were just sitting there, the ones priced realistically were selling well.

I just can't figure out why there were no M44s, I wanted another.

ummmm... 20.00 for a usgi mag is about twice what they should be going for.prior to the panic they were under 8.00 if you looked around.  heck pmags were cheaper than that.

You are right, if you looked around.  However, a clean $20 bill has been the going rate on new USGI mags, "unless you looked", for some time now.  Hey man, we're on the same team, smile!

So, do you know why there were no M44s, or are we just gonna go round and round on mag prices?

only for the last few weeks. prior to that you could get them online pretty much anywhere for under 10.00

then again if you don't aleady have enough....... you have failed

mosins have been drying up for awhile. prices have been creeping upwards for the last year or so. saw VERY few at the last show as well and the few that were there were pushing 80.00+

wanna buy mine?

i went back today and got rid of one of my ak's for pretty much what i wanted for it.  was a lot more relaxed there today.  i don't know if you saw them but there was an urban youth there that i have seen at quite a few shows lately selling surplus stuff.  he had USGI mags there today still in the gov. plastic wrapper for 15.00 a piece.  i think he works for the guy that owns all that stuff. i didn't see them for that price yesterday, so he might have lowered his price today.  with all that has been going on $15.00 is almost a fair price.  i saw a few ak pistols there with front grips on them(which i am pretty sure is a no-no), and one guy there was selling a 9mm AR rifle with a 7.5 barrel on it.  that takes quite some big balls to try and pull off. oh and i have the urge for a garand now.  wonder if the cmp still has some decent ones.

When I was there late yesterday, it wasn't much different than any other show I've ever been too.  Yeah some people had lost their mind on prices but others were reasonable.

I actually went in looking for a 10/22 to plug a gaping hole in my personal collection and ended up plugging another gaping hole by walking out with a Remington Model 700 in .308.

For the price I couldn't pass it up since it came with a Leupold scope, harris bipod and sling, especially since it looked like it had been shot very little...

I went.

First thing Saturday.

The line was NUTS.

But the prices were OK, once I found what I was after.

I was impressed- versus the last one, there were a lot more individual sellers.

I found deals on what I was looking for, but I really had to look.

I went on Sat. Line was much longer than expected.

I was looking for a glock 34/35 and browsed everything very fast until I found one.  Closed the deal at approximately $50 plus sales tax below the Gun Cellar's price.  I was out the door by 9:15am and the line was still very, very long.

Yes they do.  At least they always have had the Garands for good prices, but Carbines are hit and miss.  Hope to be going this week.  Remind me and I'll let you know - check with TBS, he'll know if I went.
