I've got a Winchester model 61 which needs the barrel replaced.  I have the new barrel already, I just need a gunsmith who can fit it properly.  The old barrel has a bulge in it.

Is there anyone in the Birmingham area who can do this work??

Run. I took an AR15 into them several years ago to get stock swapped sinceI did not have the proper wrench at that time (bought one quick after that). He went in back and when he came out, the stock was swapped.

Problem was there was a BIG scratch on the gun. I asked him what happened and he said his crescent wrench slipped. Cresent wrench I asked and he said yep, he couldn't find the correct one so he used his crescent

OUCH!  I'd hate to get a $$$ classic rimfire buggered up like that.  It may have been a one time thing but I probably need someone who can take care with the 61.

I would be glad to help you with what you need. If I can't do the job I will find someone that can.

Take Care
