Buddy, I am an LSU graduate, LSU mechanical engineer and LSU die hard, born and raised 4 miles from the campus, and I can assure you, you can have that no good SOB, money grabing, money hungery jackass. Tide boys you better hope the St. Mary's girls football team do not offer him more money, you will really be "flushed". Now, ask the questuon again!!!! |
Candy Edwards was sad to see him go
|
Buddy, you just answered my "questuon." Just as I thought. |
| I liked Saban. He has a great eye for talent. What most people seemed to have forgotten about his time with LSU are all the games he lost that he should have won! The National Cahmpionship was a result of circumstances beyond Saban's control, he didn't engineer that appearence in the BCS: LSU more or less fell into that game and OU turned out to be a paper tiger. LSU had more talent bringing in the water than OU had on the field. |

Keith, Typical Alabama Fan, You missed my answer, so I will talk slower for you.....it is not that he is at Alabama, a lesser program, it is the fact that he was going to stay at LSU and was lured to Miamai by the money....he owned Baton Rouge.... DO you not see it? I tried to explain my views by the reference to St. Mary's football team...but it must have gone over your head.... I was trying to say that you 'Bama boys better not trust him either..... |
I met him in 2000 when I was working in Baton Rouge during my lunch break at McAlister's Deli. Seemed like a pretty nice guy. I think he enjoyed the fact that I did not mention anything about football when I went to shake his hand. The only question I had for him was: "How can you take going out in public because I would go nuts with all these people coming up to me?" He answered back with "It comes with the territory". I nodded, and we both went about our business. |
|
I met him too, met him at LSU, he signed a National Championship poster for me for a fun raiser at my sons high school, that poster raised $1800!!!!! in an auction..... But the point I was trying to make is I do not care where he is at or even care less if he is at Bama, I know we have a much better program than they do, the issue is Saban leaving LSU for Miami for the $$$$ the way he did, and then he screwed Miami and will do the sme to Bama folks, they just dont see it....but in a few years when a bigger bus comes along and Saban hops on it and leaves Bama in the rear view mirror, they too will feel the same... Richard, Maybe you dont understand. Bama was on the brink of going to shit...quickly. If Saban leaves for more money in 2, 3 or 4 years, Bama is still alot better off than they would have been if Shula had stayed around. Bama already has numerous top prospects that have verbally comitted to the Tide for the 2008 season. Come signing day, it will be one of the best recruiting classes to come to Tuscaloosa in a long time. Do you know why these top prospects are coming to Bama? One guess. ETA: I hope that was slow enough for you. |
My guess is because "Lucky" on the Bama Rivals board is basically the CEO of Rivals and any player who commits to Bama is automatically raised to a 4 or 5 star recruit, even when Bama beats out Middle Tenn. St.? Saw two stars jump to 4 the day after committing last year. It's actually a joke on many SEC boards and people posting on some actually guess how much a 2 or 3 star will jump on Rivals after seeing he committed to Bama or is a "strong lean" to Bama. |
It must be a conspiracy. In all seriousness, I see many athletes who make a verbal commitment in the summer only to have their ranking drop. Must be the ones who commit elsewhere, huh? |
Naw. It's just that Bama fans are so easy to enjoy since Bear retired. How many coaches were the one to bring them back to glory only to flame out after a short period of time? Perkins, Fifthchoine, Stallings (got one but fired because he was going to be too big for Bear Jr to control), "It's rolling baby", Shula, etc. Remember how two years ago, Shula with his 10 wins was the man? Now Saban who except for one very lucky year lost at least 3 games per year at LSU and won nothing at MSU walks on water. Who's next after 3 years or so go by? Kinda like Old Miss who has being trying to resurrect Johnnie Vaught but ended up with Zero instead. Or LSU for years who went through Archer, Dumbnardo, Hallman, etc. who were going to bring glory back trying to find another Dietzel, got a luck year fom Saban, and now has Miles. One interesting fact is each of the coaches above at all 3 schools always have (had) great recruiting years . The cry was always "Just wait til next year (or maybe the one after) Still is
