There is none. If you buy from an individule, there is NO paperwork or registration....paperwork and fbi checks only occur if you buy from a dealer. Of course this does not include full auto, silencers and other class 3 items..there IS paperwork and a $200 tax on those items. |

if you are both legal residents of alabama and the transfer is face to face, there are no requirements at all as others have said, but I will personally insist on a bill of sale if the person selling to you is not a legal AL resident, in all cases it has to be transferred through an FFL |
