| Very nice pics. I do a good bit of canoeing/kayaking on the Elk River and the creeks that flow into it. The area is very convenient to my home in Athens and you can be 20 minutes from downtown and feel like you're a million miles from civilization. There's also some good fishing on Anderson Creek and Big Creek if you're into that, but the only way to get there is by canoe and it's only accessible during the summer when the water is up. |

Rick03A3, pass upper river road on 36 going east, turn left on Talucah road (north). Go about three miles and turn left at abandoned store on Sharps road. The bridge/boat ramp are about two miles west. If you get to the river you have passed it.You can reach it from upper river road by turning right at road with a church on the left. I don't know the name of the road but it Ts into Sharps road. Turn right and ut goes to the bridge. I live at Union Hill, send me a message and I'l be happy to escort you and some friends. It is beautiful there. Saw three eagles my last time out. rk |
Yep, up past Skyline on top of the mountain up there. What kind of snake was that laying on the log? I couldn't really see any rattlers on the tail. BTW, is this the place: Cotacto Creek Merlin |
