I heard today that Honey Island is gonna be closed for a while from one of the range officers. Some kind of bridge construction. That sucks because I haven't had the chance to break in my RRA Entry Tatical. I don't like shooting frangibles in my rifle at FITS indoor range. Oh, good news. FITS just got the full auto suppressed Uzi this week for rent.

They were talking about that Saturday. The website says that the construction of the new bridge is supposed to take a month to complete. Only thing I can suggest is to check the web site: www.honeyisland.org or call the message line: (985) 643-3938 to check on the status of the construction. There is a possibility (favorable weather) that the construction might not take that long or special arrangements have been made. If I find anything out, I'll pass it along. Redbaron |

I was there today too... I was on the pistol line the entire time though, so that could explain me not seeing anyone. I did see ramunition. He was looking good and happy. I also saw the drain pipes. As for pushing the range back, my understanding is that they are not going to just push back the range, but that they are going to build a seperate firing line from the one currently there going off at like 10'oclock. They have also been talking about that for as long as I have been going there... Take that for what its worth... |
| I have been going to Honey Island long before there were any range officers. The only reason I am excited about 200 yard line is b/c it could only be done if they could move heavy equipment across that bridge. Now they can so lets cross our fingers for the 200yard line. |
Anything new going on at the swamp. Any progress? How about being open. If I could only get days off from the indoor range during the weekend. I'm tired of shooting frangibles out of my ARs. One day I'll make it out there. The indoor range is gonna be closed Sunday because of the Easter Bunny.
