OK, I admit it, I have never been to a gun show. I usually see the ads for the ones in Bham after they take place, or have something else going on. I see there is supposed to be one May 21-22 in Birmingham. I'm not in the market for a firearm (what's more, I have other things on the priority list ahead of my next "gotta have"), but what else can I expect to see? I'm about to start reloading 10mm. Can I expect a good range of powders? And in good condition? I wouldn't be ticked if all I got to do was wander around for an afternoon and check things out, but it would be nice to pick up some supplies and save a little shipping. |

Theres a gun show at BJCC on march 19-20. Theres a few guys there that all they sell is reloading equip. , brass etc. Plus reloads. Last show Ga. Arms was there plus Orbit Ammo is always ther and thers atleast one reloading booth that is usually there. If your wanting reloading stuff there should be plenty there for you. Worth the $6 to get in. And yes the next (May 21-22) one is The Southern Gun & knife show L.L.C. Next weekend is the Alabama Gun Collectors show. |
| My opinion is gun shows are for people that don't have internet access. I can get any accessory or ammo much cheaper and in better shape from the net. I doubt I would ever buy a firearm from a gun show. I'm too picky and don't trust most of the sellers. I have a local dealer near where I live that can order anything I'm looking for at a very reasonable price. |

Thanks, guys. Yes, I'll be looking AT guns, but more likely for powder, primers, etc. Might pick up something from Ga Arms, I've used them before with good results. Tho I always buy used cars I buy new guns, since I just don't feel comfortable buying a used one from someone I don't know. One thing I would wonder about is the age, previous storage of the powder. I suppose if it is a major brand in pristine container you could assume it is ok? Well, I'll probably check it out and at the least meet my daughter for lunch. Fish Market, or (is Johns still open/good?). |

MUCH better deals at local shops and the net. the only thing i buy locally anymore for reloading is primers and occasionally bullets. Figure it's going to cost you 12.00 just to get in <unless you want to hike to the show and not pay for parking.> BY the time you pay that most good deals just became a reguar price. i have pretty much stopped going. they are sometimes fun to look at but after you have seen the circuit of shows it's the same dealers with the same over priced stuff EVERY show. It gets old fast. |
