I got my first of the season Saturday at 5:30, 120 lb 2 point, Going again in the morning. Hit him in the shoulder at 100 yds with a 150g rn 30-30. Anyone else?

Who is going to take me hunting this year?  I have never been hunting.  I've been shooting since I was 14 or so, but at nothing other than paper, cans, tannerite, small appliances...

p.s.  FYI you can get your hunters license online now, test and all.

I hunted until around 1:00 pm Saturday, didn't even see a bird. Going again this week and weekend, hope my luck changes.

Test?  What test?  This is a new one on me.   I've been buying my license at the same place for about 35 years now and I've never heard the word "test" mentioned.

FWIW:  I haven't deer hunted any in the last 25 years or so but it looks like I may get to go some this year.

I bought a lifetime hunting and fishing liscense about 15 years ago,nice to never have to worry about it again.

I killed a doe saturday. 125 yard shot, right behind the shoulder. Shot her with a Remington 700 ADL 30-06 with 180 grn Winchester Silvertips.

My brother in law killed one yesterday, shot her with a Ruger 270 with 130grn Hornady Light Magnum SSTs. I think I'll be switching to those next year, it tore one heck of a hole in her.

I shoot the same rifle but BDL, 150 grn silvertips, never had one get back up...

I have not had the chance to load up my 410 shot gun with bird shot and crawl around on my belly looking for any deer as of yet.
