I was at the Camden Tennessee shoot this weekend and got to meet some old friends and make a bunch of new ones. The guys from here at AR15 came up and really helped out at this event. One of them (his name later if he agrees for me to post it), brought me a fantastic H-2 Hummer now that is a FRIEND!!!!! How many of you have a friend like that? More on the hummer later, maybe even a few pics. Mona sent along some of her world famous jerky, much to my delight!
Friday was a beautiful day, warm, sunny, and dry. Saturday on the other hand was a bit overcast but was warm and dry, up to a point! The late afternoon brought in some clouds and rain along with wind. I do not mean just wind, I mean WIND!!!! Tents were being lifted up and folks were hanging on for dear life, covers were being destroyed and snapped like twigs. Light fixtures fell, tables went over, and things were flying about. Then the lightning came, I was out of there faster than you can even think about it!. We did manage to secure everything before we left in order for it to all be there the next morning.
Friday evening there was a free drive in movie showing at the rear of the motel we were staying at. Seems that one of the guys brought along his laptop and a projector and had a movie showing on the wall at the rear of the building. I understand that a few locals stopped in to watch, along with the rest of the crowd of shooters. They moved the movie inside to the lobby on Saturday evening for all to see, and the motel had popcorn ready for all to enjoy as well.
The people of Camden and Benton County were great to all of us and made us all very welcome, they even had welcome signs set up on the roads leading to the range. This shoot has got to be one of the best I have ever attended. The people there are great, the range is huge, and we are treated like family. There were shooters from all over the country there, as far away as Connecticut, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, and many that I can not remember. There was a GE Mini-gun there that was the hit of the show, along with a few mortars and cannons. There were several dealers there this time that made the vendor area much larger than it has ever been. I was busy dealing with customers and filming for the show and never got to do any stills, so if anyone has still shots please put them up somewhere.
MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT CAME, AND ESPECIALLY TO THOSE THAT CAME AND HELPED! Without your help things would not have gone as great as they did.

i was literaly a blast!

it was good seeing you again tony. Scaryguy was worried you were not going to like the hummer. I told him he was nutz.

My only regret was our crews were running on opposite ends of things all weekend and i didn't get much time to hang out with you.

The ATA people are GREAT and the City of Camden is one of the freindliest places i have ever been.

The Bama crew had a great time working the shoot and hope to get back up there REAL!!!! soon.

I called the Benton County Chamber of Commerce office today and thanked them for all they did. I am also writing a letter to the paper thanking the folks of Camden and of Benton County for their hospitality to us all. The lady I spoke with at the Chamber was very happy that I called and was very pleased to hear from me. She said a letter to the paper would be very nice and would show others that we are truly the good guys. I am hoping that others will do the same as I have done, write a letter and or make a call.
I am sorry that we did not get to spend some fun time with the Bama group, as well as others. There is always next time and I will be there next time to have some more fun. I thought the Hummer was perfect, and I am still excited about it.

Feel Free to post my name, Tony.

The Hummvee was a very small token for the cool stuff you've let me shoot in the past.

Scaryguy, you have done it for me, I do not like to put up info of any type unless I have an OK from the individual. If any of you out there are looking for someone to do a VERY detailed model for presentation, scaryguy is the one to see. He does aircraft, cars, and of course Humvee's. His work is flawless and it is an honor to be presented with one of his creations. He also does logo's and other graphic type design as I understand it. I can tell you this, I have not had a logo designed for my company until now. The logo scaryguy did on my Hummer was perfect and I plan on using it for my business, and YES he is being compensated for his effort!

For those that wish to have the contact information for the Benton County Chamber of Commerce or the local newspaper here ya go. Benton County Chamber of Commerce, 202 Main St W., Camden, Tn. 38320 phone # 731-584-8395. The newspaper address is; The Camden Chronicle, 144 West Main St., Camden, Tn. 38320 phone # 731-584-7200. The newspaper has Email as well, <[email protected]> or <[email protected]>.

Gee, you'd think such a talented person would have a more creative Bio pic. Cool avatar though.

Thanks for the Chamber of Commerce info, Tony.  You saved me some leg work.

It was indeed a great time.  Can't wait until the September shoot.

Camden was great. The people at this shoot truely make you feel like family. During the ceasefire, we would walk around and look at things. When I would ask a question, or ask if we could take a closer look at something, everyone we asked went out of his way to help.  We had several folks invite us to shoot their MGs.  There were also some for rent, a belt or mag at a time.
For those of us that don't own NFAs, it is a great oppertunity to check some out.
Tony, thank you again for letting me shoot the E2, and for showing me the T-50. What a piece of history, and I got to hold it in my hands. That alone would have made the trip.
We have been to "the creek" 4 or 5 times, and we have had fun there, but I wanted to get to Camden before it gets too big. We made alot of new friends, and plan to make some more in the future. We had a great time.
