When using ball powders, do any of you use magnum primers (we're talking 223 here)?

Thanks to all,

Rick

i never have. was told one time that it could raise the burn rate/increase pressure? not sure if that is true or not but i have not tried it. Remmingtons website used to state specifically not to use Magnum primers for .223.

I'm gonna start using them,,,I will have to re-develop my loads but I don't use much in the way of ball powders anyway (W748 & AA2230).  I read that on the low side, a Ka-boom is possible, especially if you go below the recommended starting charge.  I've also seen a barrel and receiver that blew as a result of using 1.5 grains less that the lowest recommended charge.  Sure don't want to experience that!
