Okay, I sort of get the shortage of "regular" ammo, but what the heck .22 is almost non-existent and crazy expensive.
I saw a box of 550 regular remington ammo, for over $120 a box. THIS IS UTTER BULL &*^^%% |

you are correct. it's bad.
All you can do is be pro-active and hit all the Wal-marts, Meijers, etc... in the mornings or when ever they stock ammo and be ready to buy. Take someone with you in case they have a per person limit. I think WalMart still sells .22 bulk packs for $23.95 when they are in stock. the days of just being able to walk into any ole place and buy .22 for the old prices are long gone. |

I have bought .22lr once this year at Walmart, the only boxes that Ive seen in stock. I actually walked back out to the truck, hesitated and then went back in and bought them, they were 2 of the WIN AR22 1000 rnd packs for $49.95 ea..... I hated paying that but I did. The clerk was telling me of a group of guys that buy any and all ammo and brag about listing it for double on Craigslist. And while he was double bagging the ammo for me this guys walks over and asks where the .22 ammo went? It wasnt one of the flippers he was talking about but I almost miised out these boxes too.....
So, Im glad that I bought them but yeah its crazy...... I started stocking up on the 550 FED bulk packs when they were $8.97, then $9.97, $12.97 etc....... I have appox. 30k stockpiled, but with the kids and family shoots we go thru 5k+ a year so its not going to last long. |
