| Anybody know a lawyer (that you have used) familiar with NFA Trust regulations in Indy? I have a lawyer I use on a regular basis for my business but he is not familiar with the finer points of this arrangement. Thanks. |
| With the chance (however slim) of the BATFE invalidating trusts in the future, I would be hesitant to form a trust for NFA ownership. Nothing like building up a nice NFA collection under a trust only to have the BATFE declare trusts invalid and suddenly your NFA collection is in legal limbo. |

Invalidating trusts on the individual level? Or not allowing trusts at all? If you're talking about the former then it's always a possibility, but that would be because there were mistakes in the trust, a good lawyer can fix that issue. If you're talking about the latter then you're dead wrong; it would take an act of congress changing NFA '34 in order to take away trusts as a legal method of NFA ownership. ETA, to answer the OPs Q, there really aren't any that I know of in IN. You may try contacting the lawyer in Mishawaka that David Goldman uses as his in-state attorney for his trusts. You'll likely end up with a David Goldman trust going through them. I'm very happy with the service I've received from the two of them. Any time I have a question David is very prompt getting back to me with answers/advice. |
