| Can someone tell me the legality of buying a 12 guage street sweeper in Indiana as an individual, not a department? I found one at a pawn shop. They are not sure and niether am I as to what steps to take. Is it a transfer or $200 tax stamp? No telling how long they've had it. |

| My guess would be that if it was pawned, then it was not transferred (if it was ever in the NFA registry to begin with). Obviously, it would have had to have been transferred from the person pawning it to the pawn shop, and if they don't recall doing that, then more than likely it never was. It sure sounds like this one is going to be surrendered. |

I'll talk to the owner tomorrow. The guy behind the counter doesn't know squat. It could have been transferred. At the same time, it's a pawn shop. If it's illegal, I'll have it taken care of by ATF without a big incident.
Damn shame if thats the case. It's almost new. They've probably had it for years. It was sitting behind the office door like a door stop

If not registered have the barrel removed and stored at another location or destroyed. The rec. is considered title I without the barrel. This guy would know what he is talking about. The receiver would be basically worthless if not registered but it's still better than letting it be destroyed. It would make a nice center piece for your dining room table. Your wife would love it, trust me

It would look better with the barrel filled with lead & the firing pin removed. |
| I had one several years ago. They are strange to shoot. Every time you release the trigger (after a round is fired) the drum rotates to the next shell. They are slower that you would think. I sold mine for $400 long before the ban, I wish I would have kept it. I owned a Stricker as well. It wall simular but with a standard fixed stock |

I had one several years ago... They are slower that you would think... Yeah, I read sometime back of a Streetsweeper vs. Winchester Model 97 contest. From a fully loaded start, the Model 97 won hands down for speed of firing. Afterward the Model 97 was able to keep up a fairly brisk rate of fire using some Cowboy Action Shooting techniques while the drum was being reloaded. And yes, where is this building full of guns? Please share. |
| I wanted to reply from work but couldn't, I beleive that streetsweeper you are refering to is a not chambered in .410 but actually in 45-70 with a rifled barrel. Although you can shoot 3" .410 out of it, it is not a DD. But a rifle with a revolving cylinder. I believe these are a different animal then the streetsweeper. |
